"Someday, when I am rich, I am going to invite someone from my travels to visit me in America." Brad Newsham was only 22 when he scribbled this note in his journal with "only an immature sense of the staying power of ideas." Years later, this casual prophecy came true, and Newsham documents the events that led up to it in Take Me with You. This is the sweet story of his 100-day journey through the Philippines, India, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, as he seeks just the right person to bring to America. The book covers a wide geography not just of land, but also of spirit. "Brilliant, sharp, unswerving travel writing by a man skilled at letting the scales fall from his eyes; it is a memoir of travel seen through time and resolve - in short, a wonderful book." - Herbert Gold, author of Bohemia, Daughter Mine, and Best Nightmare on Earth

The British crime fiction writer Peter Cheyney is the creator of the American FBI agent Lemmy Caution and the English detective Slim Callaghan. These characters were constructed as a British response to the hardboiled detectives of American fiction. In later years Cheyney’s style matured with the ‘Dark’ books, drawing wide praise during World War II for bringing more realism to espionage fiction. Although his works have suffered neglect in recent times, the fame of Cheyney’s novels in the post-war period cannot be underestimated, having sold over 5 million copies. For the first time in publishing history, this eBook presents Peter Cheyney’s complete works, with numerous illustrations, rare texts, informative introductions and the usual Delphi bonus material. The chorus of frightening voices began to cackle maniacally and chanted in a strange language. Diana picked up the fruit but dropped it when it burned her hand to the touch. To Greta’s horror, an upside-down cross was beginning to sear into the palm of Diana’s hand. Her eyes were solid white before she crumpled to the ground. “AHHH... FRESH MEAT, SO SWEET. WE’LL MAKE THE GODDESS PURR... PURR... PURR!” sniggered the evil being in a cacophony of guttural sounds. It took all the courage inside Greta to leap onto the levitated bed. While she struggled with the entity possessing her teammate, she was amazingly able to force the blood amulet over the demon’s neck. In that instant, the bed slammed to the ground. Diana sat up looking quite dazed as well. Greta inspected them before breaking her silence. “Are you both okay?” Shade was sobbing. “What happened? Why am I tied up? Please untie me. I’m so scared.” Diana was about to release Shade, but Greta immediately grew concerned. She wisely chose to keep it to herself because Diana still had the telling mark on her hand. I need to get Priest. He’s the only person who can fix this issue religiously.
