A collection of United Nations documents associated with the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, these volumes facilitate research into the scope of, meaning of and intent behind the instrument's provisions. It permits an examination of the various drafts of what became the thirty articles of the Declaration, including one of the earliest documents – a compilation of human rights provisions from national constitutions, organised thematically. The documents are organised chronologically and thorough thematic indexing facilitates research into the origins of specific rights and norms. It is also annotated in order to provide information relating to names, places, events and concepts that might have been familiar in the late 1940s but are today more obscure.

Fluxus was an art movement of the 1960s and 70s that set out to abolish the canonized art idioms of the day. Pioneers of Conceptual Art and Minimalism, the Fluxus artists were known for their environments, performance art and mass-producible objects. This book is a study of the Fluxus movement.

A companion to the Getty’s prize-winning exhibition catalogue Illuminating the Renaissance: The Triumph of Flemish Manuscript Painting in Europe, this volume contains thirteen selected papers presented at two conferences held in conjunction with that exhibition. The first was organized by the Getty Museum, and the second was held at the Courtauld Institute of Art under the sponsorship of the Courtauld Institute and the Royal Academy of Arts. 'The focus of this study is on the issue of the recognition of Islamic divorces established abroad, in European states. 'Islamic divorces' is used for pragmatic reasons as a collective term in this study. The term 'divorces' covers the most common, formal modalities of dissolution of marriage by the act of one or both parties or by judicial process. The term does not include informal arrangements to dissolve the marriage, so it does not include divorces that are not lawfully established. 'Islamic' refers to their establishment in mostly Muslim-majority countries with legislation that incorporates, at least to some extent, laws and customs that originate in the legal subject matter of the Shari'a. One should realize, however, that the Islamic law or the Islamic divorce does not exist, as this study will also demonstrate.'

These guidelines have been designed to help those involved in the assessment of emergency water sources to collect relevant information in a systematic way, to use this information to select a source or sources and to determine the appropriate level of treatment required to make the water suitable for drinking.
