The first part of this paper summarizes the regional geology of the eastern Bella Coola map area of south-wet British Columbia, with information on plutons & volcanic/sedimentary successions. The second part describes the area's structural geology, characterized by several distinct deformational events recording episodic extensional, contractional, and transpressional tectonism in the region.

This report summarizes features of the larger representative intrusive bodies mapped in the north-east part of the Bella Coola area of British Columbia. These bodies are subdivided into five suites, one intrusive complex, and several unassigned plutons that have been tentatively interpreted as being of Jurassic to Eocene in age. Information is included on lithology, mineralogy, contacts, and structural elements. The final section comments on pluton geometry and on the emplacement of the intrusions.

This paper briefly describes the geology of the eastern Bella Coola map area, based on two years of detailed mapping which concluded in 2002. The descriptions cover the three lithostratigraphic successions that dominate the map area: the Jurassic Hazleton Group of sedimentary & volcanic rocks; the Lower Cretaceous Monarch assemblage of volcanic rocks; and contrasting suites of Jurassic, Early Cretaceous, and Tertiary plutons. The plutonic rocks are subdivided into a number of plutonic suites based on textural & compositional characteristics, cross-cutting relations, xenoliths, degree of alteration, and weathering character.

A geological report and survey on the Bella Coola and Laredo Sound map-areas, which cross the Coast Mountains of British Columbia between latitudes 52 degrees and 53 degrees north. They are underlain mainly by plutonic and metamorphic rocks.
