In 2006, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky had been suffering from many of the same challenges facing metro regions across the country. Despite significant investments in education from the public and private sectors, outcomes were alarming: Kindergarten readiness was below fifty percent, and nearly half of the students in the Cincinnati Public Schools were dropping out before high school graduation. Fortunately, a diverse group of community leaders across sectors was exploring a transformative approach to improving education as a system. This gathering of leaders was the genesis of the StrivePartnership, which served as the inspiration for the theory of collective impact. Together, these partners are building a cradle-to-career civic infrastructure based on the idea that everyone in a community has a stake in the success of every child. This book chronicles the early stages of this ongoing journey from the perspective of the founding chair and director of this work, drawing upon lessons from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and four other pioneering local partnerships. The experiences captured in these five regions helped lay the foundation for the StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network, a national community of practice on the cutting edge of social change.

In the Lord’s recovery during the past five hundred years the church’s knowledge of the Lord and His truth has been continually progressing. This monumental and classical work by Brother Witness Lee builds upon and is a further development of all that the Lord has revealed to His church in the past centuries. It is filled with the revelation concerning the processed Triune God, the living Christ, the life-giving Spirit, the experience of life, and the definition and practice of the church. In this set Brother Lee has kept three basic principles that should rule and govern every believer in their interpretation, development, and expounding of the truths contained in the Scriptures. The first principle is that of the Triune God dispensing Himself into His chosen and redeemed people; the second principle is that we should interpret, develop, and expound the truths contained in the Bible with Christ for the church; and the third governing principle is Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church. No other study or exposition of the New Testament conveys the life nourishment or ushers the reader into the divine revelation of God’s holy Word according to His New Testament economy as this one does.

The evidence-based strategies in this volume close the achievement gap among students from all sociological backgrounds. Designed according to local needs assessments, they provide the services, programs, initiatives, and relationships that are crucial for children's success in school and life. These practices and programs include afterschool and summer sessions, early-childhood education, school-linked health and mental health services, family engagement, and youth leadership opportunities. This book addresses the policy and funding requirements that help these partnerships thrive and offers effective counterarguments against those who would question their value. The text describes strategies that work in both rural and urban contexts and includes a chapter evaluating school-community partnerships across the world. Because it involves collaborations across professions and organizations, the book's interdisciplinary approach will appeal to those in social work, education, psychology, public health, counseling, nursing, and public policy.

STRIVE TOGETHER TO BUILD A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM Do you want to build winning teams or championship teams? Winning teams are results-obsessed. Any result will do no matter how low the bar--whatever it takes to compare favorably with The Competition. These teams are built from the outside-in. Decisions are made after asking questions like: "How will this look?" "How will this feel?" and, most importantly, "How will we compare?" Championship teams are driven by a purpose that transcends winning. Champions don't compare - they compete based on the origin of compete, 'to strive together.' Championship teams are built from the inside-out. Decisions are made after asking: "Will this align with who we are?" and, most importantly, "Will this make us better?" Today we live in a world of ambiguity. Young people are entering a workplace that is increasingly disruptive and unpredictable. Seeking to work collaboratively is no longer sufficient to meet this challenge. Simply "working together" was perfect for Henry Ford's assembly line. But in today's rapid change economy "striving together" is required because productivity and the ability to constantly innovate have become the keys to success. Winning teams are focused on competing externally. They are built to project a certain image. Championship teams are built to innovate. They compete internally and create their own best practices - which prepares them for anything The Competition throws at them! In Strive Together, Jeff Moore provides business leaders with a framework for building teams that achieve beyond expectations in a rapid change environment and helps leaders in education understand how to prepare young people to thrive in ambiguity!
