Do you repeatedly struggle with the same issues? Do you feel defeated, discouraged, and depressed? Do you feel like there is no hope left? If so, Joyce Schneider wants you to know that God wants something more for you. In her newest book, she uncovers some of the struggles that we all have but rarely feel comfortable sharing. Joyce uses her real-life experiences to show others that they are not alone. We have been taught through the ages that words cannot hurt us, but that is a lie. Words do hurt. They take root inside of us and change our perception of ourselves and others. But Jesus wants to weed that out. In this confessional and inspirational guide, Joyce shows us how he can step in, remove that veil of deception, and allow us to see clearly once more. You too can be set free from the lies that get stuck inside. Male or female, young or old, you will be encouraged by this heartfelt story in Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones but Words Can Kill My Spirit.

In October 2015, a group of distinguished UU religious professionals of color gathered together in Chicago to embark on a radical project. The conference was sponsored by the UUMA’s Committee on Antiracism, Anti-oppression, and Multiculturalism. It started with the premise that discussions of race in Unitarian Universalism have too often presupposed a White audience and prioritized the needs, education, and emotions of the White majority. The goal was to reframe Unitarian Universalist anti-oppression work by putting the voices, experiences and learnings of people of color at the center of the conversation. The resulting book, Centering, captures the papers that were presented and the rich dialogue from the conference to share personal stories and address the challenges that religious leaders of color face in exercising power, agency, and authority in a culturally White denomination. Centering explores how racial identity is made both visible and invisible in Unitarian Universalist ministries.

How many hours do we spend scrolling Facebook newsfeeds, retweeting something on Twitter, or posing for the perfect selfie on Instagram, hoping what we post will get likes and comments from our friends and followers? To get those likes, we post what is—according to social media standards—pretty, popular, and acceptable. We hide the messy parts of life, play up the fun times, and even twist the truth a bit so we look a little better, smarter, and funnier. But what happens when people start holding us up to these unrealistic standards? What happens when you realize that who you are on social media isn’t who you really are? Have we let social media steal our identity? In #Stolen, author Jessica Fralin uncovers our deep desire to be affirmed, valued, and loved and then points to the only place where that desire can be filled: in Christ not social media. She offers creative #FunFact, #GiveItATry, and #WhatDoYouThink callouts containing fun notes, activities, and ideas to discuss with your youth group and friends. As she tackles the issues and insecurities like popularity, body image, and cyberbullying, Jessica shows you how to find your identity in the one voice that really matters, not the million of voices online.

Growing up on a farm in Kentucky, I know the meaning of a "hard day's work." As the sun was setting, we could hear Mom ringing the dinner bell. With a country meal on the table, Dad began to say the blessings. Believing life was simple, I had no idea of the turmoil ahead of me. After high school, I soon married, and my life changed forever as the beatings began. And within a few years, we had two little girls. I turned to the church for help, but they told me to turn the other cheek. My family could not help me financially. With no one to turn to, I fell into the darkness. So I filed for a divorce. One day, the girls' father took them for a weekend visit but ended up kidnapping them for three years! I prayed every day for my children's safety. Finding my girls was by the grace of God. We suffer with an emotional handicap, but because of our strong faith in God, we all now have wonderful lives. And I hope my book will touch many lives, covering issues such as bullying, human trafficking, women's rights, and spousal abuse to name a few. Writing Edge of the Light has given me a chance to continue to heal. Each chapter is inspired by one of the seven divine powers. The edge is a most divine place to be, it is structured by the hand of God. There you will be comforted and healed. Never lose hope, for the darkness is short-lived, but the Light shines forever. I can now ring my bell of freedom!

She Had Made the Company Millions Yet They Cut Her Loose "I went to school and have my college degree. I married and had children. I had a successful career for 18 years-top sales with award winning trips for seven of those years. I have saved for my retirement. I have savings accounts for my children to go to college. I pay my taxes and volunteer my time to many worthy causes like the Epilepsy foundation and the Alzheimer's Association. Yes, I own two nice cars, a big screen TV, and expensive suits and am an incorrigible shopaholic, but I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination. I'd been blessed with a comfortable middle class life until one split second took it all away." Kimberly Cheryl was living the American Dream until she was seriously injured in a car accident. Unexpectedly fired by the company she long served, she found herself without a job, without insurance, and without any means of paying off her obligations. She quickly moved from a position of observer and participant of the health care industry to being adversely affected by the same system. In Escape from the Pharma Drug Cartel, Cheryl reveals how our health care system is broken, unjust, and inhumane. "Every other industrialized nation manages to provide almost all its citizens with guaranteed health insurance, while spending less on health care than we do," Cheryl writes. How is it possible that the United States-a leader in health care development and drug discovery-is not able to provide its citizens with medical care when countries like Australia and China do? In Escape from the Pharma Drug Cartel, Kimberly Cheryl takes the reader on a shocking, revealing, and provocative tour of the pharmaceutical industry of America as only an insider can.

You may be asking yourself right now, why should I take my time to read this book? I think the late Jim Rohn, one of the most outstanding personal development teachers who taught Tony Robbins, gave one of the most fantastic motives: “If you want to have more, you have to become more. Success is not something you pursue. What you pursue will elude you; it can be like trying to chase butterflies. Success is something you attract by the person you become. For things to improve, you have to improve. For things to get better, you have to get better. For things to change, you have to change. When you change, everything changes for you. Success is just a few simple disciplines practiced daily.” – Jim Rohn. This book aims to teach you the five most essential disciplines of life.
