This book is the fourth in a multidisciplinary series which brings together leading researchers in the STEAM-H disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Mathematics and Health) to present their perspective on advances in their own specific fields, and to generate a genuinely interdisciplinary collaboration that transcends parochial subject-matter boundaries. In order to tackle complex problems in the applied sciences, there is an increased demand for interdisciplinary research between mathematicians and researchers working in engineering, the sciences, and business. The mathematical sciences are undergoing rapid changes and the boundaries between them and other disciplines are blurring.
