"She was fifteen and rather young to die... but the syndicate had so ordained. For beneath that gorgeous hide of Leda's lay all the instincts of a Luciano. Extraordinarily, she knew enough to be blackmailing some very big boys, and for that her pretty neck had to be snapped. They chose Steve Garrity to hit her. He looked like an all American turned salesman who could charm a housewife out of her egg money. He was a professional assassin who had killed many men -- now engaged in the murder of a beautiful teen-aged girl. But neither Garrity nor any torpedo in the syndicate had ever come up against anything like the lovely, deadly Leda." --

In the sequel to Suzanne Young’s A Need So Beautiful, seventeen-year-old Elise wakes up in a desert park with no idea who she is. After that episode, her life takes a bizarre turn. She’s experiencing unexpected flashes of insight into people’s lives—people she’s never met before. Strangers frighten her with warnings about the approaching Shadows. And although Elise has never had a boyfriend, she suddenly finds herself torn between two handsome but very different young men: Abe, the charming bad boy whose effect on her both seduces and frightens her, and the mysterious Harlin, who’s new to town but with whom Elise feels an urgent, elemental connection—almost as if they are soul mates. Readers of the Sweet Evil trilogy will love A Want So Wicked, a wildly romantic thriller that explores the nature of good and evil.

"I had a feeling their story would be my favorite, and it is. This is the perfect ending to this series!"- Kathy Jo from KJ's Book Nook"I love everything Jennifer Peel writes, but this book-this book is in a class by itself! It's everything romance is meant to be." - Whitney Dineen, Number One Bestselling Author of The Relatively SeriesLove knows no contract.Aspen Parker's life can be summed up in one word. Unexpected. For instance, she never expected to become a mother at twenty. Her divorce at twenty-one really threw her off. She certainly didn't see losing her promotion at the bank to that weasel Stephen. And she most definitely didn't see Miles Wickham, better known as Taron Taylor-international bestselling author, the man whose words have captivated her-offering her a job to be his nephew's nanny. But there's a caveat to accepting the position; she must sign a contract agreeing to no romantic entanglements between her and the debonair Brit. Aspen doesn't expect this to be an issue seeing as she's not particularly fond of men. Once again, though, life is not turning out how she expected. While Aspen and Miles traverse single parenthood together, there's no denying the chemistry between them. She can't figure out how her charming boss knows how to pierce the protective layers of her heart, and it's driving her mad. Mad with desire that is. Miles, too, is finding it hard to resist the reserved beauty who brilliantly takes care of his nephew and him. But with both their tentative hearts on the line, can they risk taking a chance on each other? Which will win? Love or the contract?

In Edwardian London, a girl dreams of being an artist, despite her family's disapproval. Welcome to the world of the fabulously wealthy in London, 1909, where dresses and houses are overwhelmingly opulent, social class means everything, and women are taught to be nothing more than wives and mothers. Into this world comes seventeen-year-old Victoria Darling, who wants only to be an artist—a nearly impossible dream for a girl. After Vicky poses nude for her illicit art class, she is expelled from her French finishing school. Shamed and scandalized, her parents try to marry her off to the wealthy Edmund Carrick-Humphrey. But Vicky has other things on her mind: her clandestine application to the Royal College of Art; her participation in the suffragette movement; and her growing attraction to a working-class boy who may be her muse—or may be the love of her life. As the world of debutante balls, corsets, and high society obligations closes in around her, Vicky must figure out: just how much is she willing to sacrifice to pursue her dreams?

Olivia & Maria are two young sisters who are coping with the recent divorce of their parents. Later, when their dad begins dating again, the sisters decide to make sure he's dating someone who is right for them too. When dad does meet that someone, Olivia & Maria are happy. Then dad announces his plan to remarry. Now the girls must cope with the experience of having a stepmother. Will she be like the wicked stepmother in the story, Cinderella? As one who has experienced the role of stepmother twice, I can assure you that it is a role one must give careful consideration. You are not only making a commitment to your partner, but also to his children. As a stepmother, I had always searched unsuccessfully for a children's book depicting stepmothers in a positive way. Something to erase the indelible image of the "wicked" stepmother in the story Cinderella. I wanted them to have confirmation that not ALL stepmothers are mean & indifferent. Much to my dismay, I was never able to present them with anything tangible. And so, these frightened children were left to battle the situation with very little reassurance of a positive outcome. Finally, I decided to put teaching on the back burner & do something about this dilemma. I would write a children's book on a subject I knew something about & felt that children, divorced singles with children & stepparents desperately needed. My hope is that those who read "The Not No Wicked Stepmother" will come away with a positive attitude about stepfamilies & some ideas about how to make them successful. Leslie Venable was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1960. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1986 from the University of Alabama & her Master of Arts in teaching from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts before becoming a writer/publisher of children's books. Using her experience from both teaching & counseling children, she conveys some of the problems they most often face, both at home & at school. Her second book, in progress, is entitled The Friend They Called "Different."
