This book traces the family heritage of one Skaggs family line from Ansted, West Virginia, back to its roots in Colonial Maryland. Ansted West Virginia was founded by several men, including James A. Skaggs, Esquire. James was a great-grandfather to Weston Skaggs. Beginning with Weston and his family, we trace the Skaggs lineage back to Maryland in the 1600s. Generations mentioned in the book are Weston Skaggs, Rev. W. W. Skaggs, Hiram Skaggs, James A. Skaggs, Esq., Charles Skaggs, Thomas Skaggs, and Richard Skaggs. After Richard, there is a mysterious DNA twist!
