Among Christians there is almost complete silence on the subject of the place of shamanism in experiencing the divine, yet shamanic experience is at the root of all mystical communion. Shamanic Christianity offers a chance to rekindle the shamanic practices of Christianity to those who wish to restore their direct connection to the spirit world. In the tradition of contemplative practice, this reconnection takes the form of devotions. Presented in four forms, these devotions begin with a specific contemplation, followed by a meditative focus, then a parable from the author’s own visionary experiences, and finally an active mystical practice to help ground the meditations and contemplations in a ritual or ceremony that involves active participation. These four forms serve to reintroduce Jesus, Mary, and the historically renowned saints as shamanic teachers of divine mysteries whose spiritual presence is readily available to contemporary lives. The author also presents specific directives for handling everyday challenges in a shamanic-inspired manner, drawing upon creative activities and resources that encourage approaching the world with the imaginative and playful spirit of a child, whose personal freedom and creative expression is always wide open to possibilities.

Not since the time of Martin Luther, has one man alone laid the groundwork for what might be most appropriately designated as a spiritual and/or religious revolution. Had Martin Luther possibly lived in our own time of such noble scientifi c discoveries and above all, our almost total access to the seemingly infi nite amount of present as well as historical information, that seemingly lies at our fi ngertips on that more than infamous home computer, then the very true spirit of one, Martin Luther, might just as well be known to all as J. Lamah Walker. Dr. Walker, who prefers to simply be called by his middle name of “Lamah” or “J. Lamah”, has only recently fi nished his life’s literary manuscripts on the coming of this Age of Reality. He had opted to put off any publication of his dedicated works until he had fi nished all six books on the Age of Reality along with a thorough autobiography, because he simply did not want to be burdened with the demands of some very anxious literary agent or publisher trying to meet some unknown deadlines. Lamah has now chosen to publish his life’s work and One Baptist minister said after reading, Shamans of San Damiano, that it was one of the best takes on his theology that he had ever encountered and had asked Lamah to please consider writing a sequel. As this minister put it, “I am already missing this very unique and inspirational cast of characters and their incredibly special spiritual mission.” And very truthfully all six books suggest this very same theology.
