This book is the outcome of an idea, and the idea is very simple. It is that the best way to understand the dramatic transformation any idea can bring and to successfully bring ideas across, is to think of them as profound insights and moments of clarity often disguised as wit, captured in one single Quote. Ideas and products and messages and behaviors spread faster when they carry your message in a single line or paragraph: a Quote. To feel the impact a Quote can have, here are three Sensible Quotes from this book: 'Beauty itself is but the sensible image of the Infinite. - Francis Bacon' 'Opera in English is, in the main, just about as sensible as baseball in Italian. - H. L. Mencken' 'The German Doctors say that persons sensible of harmony have one sense more than others. - Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin' Three characteristics-one, contagiousness; two, the fact that little words can have big effects; and three, that insight happens not gradually but at one dramatic moment, using the right profound words-are the same three principles that define how an idea takes off, or a product goes viral. Of the three, the third, profound, trait... is the most important, because it is the principle that makes sense of the first two and that permits the greatest insight into why some ideas stick, some changes last, some words leave an impression, and others don't. This book will give you the opportunity to find that right Quote that can change it all.

This little book was written for people who have been trying and trying to make things better for themselves in any number of areas of their lives, but keep faltering. It is depressing and crushing to live for years feeling like you are always taking one step forward and two steps back. This is in terms of health, relationships, work, finances, and more. The main belief behind this book is that WHERE you are right now in life is not necessarily WHO you are or want to be, and in order to get away from WHERE you are right now is a matter of finding ways (of all types and sizes) to begin to move away from it, and to continue moving away. It doesn't matter what your problem or background is: the point is that it really can be very difficult to move forward, and most people don't get that. Another thing this book does is to act as a gentle pushback to the avalanche of well-intended but at times demeaning and shallow messages that are out there about the Universe, abundance, and "manifesting" what you want by just thinking about it. The people who are most benefitting from these messages are the relative few who are making money convincing other people of it, and the even smaller few who have been able to turn their lives around. This does not mean that ALL of what they promote has no value at all, but it does mean that what their messages project often has elements of being naive, misleading, very materialistic and none of it verifiable. So this little book is a collection of different sayings that appealed to me over the years as I went through my own troubles. On some days, some of the them seemed too sugary, and other days, other ones seemed too harsh. I would awake in the mornings and select those sayings that appealed to me for that moment on that day and read them again. They helped me to cope with the rest of the day and obstacles that arose. Sometimes they only momentarily distracted me from my problems but sometimes they distracted me enough so that they created some mental space that helped me to see a possible way out. Sometimes I was in no mood for any of them, and would begrudgingly take out and glance through them, and always found one that kept me going for that particular day. A friend suggested I pass them on to other people, via a book, so here they are. I hope they help in some small way.

Do you have a keen imagination and vivid dreams? Is time alone each day as essential to you as food and water? Are you noted for your empathy? Your conscientiousness? Do noise and confusion quickly overwhelm you? If your answers are yes, you may be a highly sensitive person (HSP) and Dr. Elaine Aron’s The Highly Sensitive Person is the life-changing guide you’ll want in your toolbox. Over twenty percent of people have this amazing, innate trait. Maybe you are one of them. A similar percentage is found in over 100 species, because high sensitivity is a survival strategy. What is the difference between having empathy and being an empath? “Having empathy means our heart goes out to another person in joy or pain,” says Dr. Judith Orloff “But for empaths it goes much farther We actually feel others’ emotions, energy, and physical symptoms in our own bodies, without the usual defenses that most people have.” With The Empath’s Survival Guide, Dr. Orloff offers an invaluable resource to help sensitive people develop healthy coping mechanisms in our high-stimulus world—while fully embracing the empath’s gifts of intuition, creativity, and spiritual connection. In this practical and empowering book for empaths and their loved ones, Dr. Orloff begins with self-assessment exercises to help you understand your empathic nature, then offers potent strategies for protecting yourself from overwhelm and replenishing your vital energy For any sensitive person who’s been told to “grow a thick skin,” here is your lifelong guide for staying fully open while building resilience, exploring your gifts of deep perception, raising empathic children, and feeling welcomed and valued by a world that desperately needs what you have to offer.
