Also by John Cord: The Christian Right ... or Wrong? Endorsements "I have never heard the Ten Commandments explained in a way that doesn't make me cringe. Well done and thank you. I have a whole new vision of the possibilities of the Bible now." Y.S. "I really cannot express how much your moderate, rational and overwhelmingly friendly view on things has changed my attitude towards true spirituality and made me realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you " N.S. "Your interpretation of the Bible is a breath of fresh air. Your non-literal view of the Bible would be considered heresy or satanic by some. Thank you for taking a stand and teaching a message so sound that it does not require a man to be fearful, ignorant or brainwashed to believe." M.T. "I have fought a spiritual battle in my head and heart for years. Finally, your teachings have brought peace to me and I no longer feel that I am doomed for not following a particular religion. My mind is healthier than it has been in years. I cannot begin to tell you the stability I have been feeling." K.K. "I am reminded every time I read your work to be thankful that people like you exist and working to spread the truth to all who will hear. And in this I know I am not alone. Thank you." A.W. "I am in much agreement with your vision and method of eloquence in communicating your thoughts on all that is relevant. You are able to advise others, justify perceptions and provoke thought and contemplation of realness without ever losing your tone of smile." D.S. "This is great, John, I love what you do. The fact that what you're teaching is SO obvious to so many, I see as a really good sign." D.M. "I praise God for the enlightenment you share. Great work, great mind, and courageous in the Spirit of Love to teach the true meaning of what God is all about." H.F."

Rosita- The Farmhouse Near the Sea is the second book of the Rosita series. This adventure takes Rosita and her forever family to the Carolina coastal area, where she is introduced to a beautiful and wonderful body of water that is so vast it is impossible for her to see across to the other shore. She plays an important role in the restoration of Lukes beloved grandmammas home and is instrumental in helping him come to terms with the anguish of his early childhood years. Most important, she meets and becomes part of the daily life of a small boy whose story is much like Lukes story; a boy who has never before known how it feels to be loved. Through it all, each in his own way acknowledges the unchanging and everlasting love of God.

Far More than We Think is an exploration of how spirituality, in its broadest sense, can be the logical solution to the many challenges of everyday modern living. These are wise words, spoken with humility, and the conclusions are surprisingly simple yet deeply profound. This debut work is a fusion of contemporary and ancient wisdom, scientific fact, and personal experience. The author builds a logical case for spirituality that leads to a conclusion that we really are far more than we think. If you have ever thought that there must be more to life than your current experience so far, then this book could mark an important turning point. If it does so for you, even to a small extent, then the purpose in sharing these thoughts will have been fulfilled.

This book seeks to explain carefully and sympathetically the Buddhist doctrine of anatta ('not-self'), which denies the existence of any self, soul or enduring essence in human beings. The author relates this doctrine to its cultural and historical context, particularly to its Brahmanical background, and shows how the Theravada Buddhist tradition has constructed a philosophical and psychological account of personal identity and continuity on the apparently impossible basis of the denial of self.

In an age of self-affirmation and self-assertion, 'selfless love' can appear as a threat to the lover's personal well-being. This perception jars with the Biblical promise that we gain our life through losing it and therefore calls for a theological response. In conversation with the Protestant theologian Paul Tillich and the atheistic moral philosopher and novelist Iris Murdoch, Selfless Love and Human Flourishing in Paul Tillich and Iris Murdoch enquires into the anthropological grounds on which selfless love can be said to build up, rather than undermine, the lover's self. It proposes that while the implausibility of selfless love was furthered by the modern deconstruction of the self, both Tillich and Murdoch utilize this very deconstruction towards explicating and restoring the link between selfless love and human flourishing. Julia T. Meszaros shows that they use the modern diagnosis of the human being's lack of a stable and independent self as manifest in Sartre's existentialism in support of an understanding of the self as relational and fallen. This leads them to view a loving orientation away from self and a surrender to the other as critical to the full flourishing of human selfhood. In arguing that Tillich and Murdoch defend the link between selfless love and human flourishing through reference to the human being's ontological selflessness, Meszaros closely engages Søren Kierkegaard's earlier attempt to keep selfless love and human flourishing in a productive, dialectical tension. She also examines the breakdown of this tension in the later figures of Anders Nygren, Simone Weil, and Jean-Paul Sartre, and addresses the pitfalls of this breakdown. Her examination concludes by arguing that the link between selfless love and human flourishing would be strengthened by a more resolute endorsement of a personal God, and of the reciprocal nature of selfless love.
