Before you is a book of memoirs about the greatest Indian mystic and miracle worker Sathya Sai Baba. He was born in the very south of India in 1926 and left his body in 2011 at the age of eighty-four. He was known as a philosopher, humanist, spiritual teacher, and the most significant miracle worker of our time. Sathya Sai Baba preached the unity of all religions, taught meditation practices, and spiritually transformed people with his blessings. With the help of his supernatural abilities, he healed people from diseases and changed the destinies of his followers. The life and teachings of Sathya Sai Baba have caused heated debates and discussions for many years, even now these disputes do not subside.

In this book, I want to share with you my memories of the greatest spiritual teacher, philosopher and miracle worker of our era, Sathya Sai Baba (1926 - 2011). He has been a mentor to tens of millions of spiritual seekers. His love and wisdom was boundless, the miracles he performed were beyond human capabilities. People from all over the world came to his ashram feeling at home. Sathya Sai Baba was surrounded by an atmosphere of love and joy, happiness and creativity. He taught ancient meditation techniques and mantras, commented on traditional Vedic and Biblical texts. With the help of his supernatural abilities, Sathya Sai Baba healed serious illnesses and changed destinies, helping people to embark on the path of spiritual exploration of the eternal essence of their souls.

All issues that were important to people were also important to him.

This very important research based, comprehensive and most enlightening book is the revised and updated book combining my two most important books on Sri Sathya Sai Incarnation: Section I presents the second Sai Baba Incarnation - Sri Sathya Sai Babas life (1926-2011), His Identityand Role, Teachings and His Contributions to humanity. It Is the revised and updated version of the authors first book Sai Baba Sai and His Message(1975) which was very much appreciated by Sri Sathya Sai Baba saying: very good book, Yes,very good book. Its 13 editions were published from 1975 to 2002.. Section II presents a sample of Sri Sathya Sai Babas thrilling miracles for which He has been universally known as Man of miracles. His miracles are still happening throughout the world even after His leavingg His mortal body on 24th April,2011 at the age of 85.. In Section III is presented the authors own self-inspired life-long research review of the important writings of Sai devotees and scholars from various fields on this great incarnation of this age and His unique contributions to the moral and spiritual development and social welfare of millions of people throughout the world. It is a unique study as no one else has as yet done such a research review. This publication is being published on the happy occasion of His 90th Birth Anniversary on 23rd November 2015 as the tribute of the 80 year old author who has been privileged to be His ardent devotee for the last 40 years as His devotee since 1971 and studying His spiritual and social movement as a quasi observer retaining his Identity as an independent sociologist.

"This is the touching story of a poor Muslim boy, who lost his father when he was two years old. He and his mother were in the clutches of poverty. This affected his upbringing. The neighbours sent him to school mainly to protect their children. In order to pay the school fees, he had to work till midnight in a nearby cinema theatre and this led him into bad ways. However, because of his extraordinary memory, he could secure first rank till the tenth standard. His proficiency in Sanskrit helped him get the much needed financial scholarship and eventually, he became an honours graduate, completed the L.L.B. and L.L.M. examinations with merit, and became a professor. His thirst to become virtuous and his quest for a Guru brought him to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. He had the coveted Padanamaskar and Bhagawan’s one deep look into his eyes transformed him miraculously. By providence, someone suggested to him to apply for the post of a visiting professor, in Baba’s college at Puttaparthi and he applied. His application, one among many thousands, was hand picked by Bhagawan Himself and thus, he got the appointment. There are many more incredible, but true incidents in the life of the author, besides a long interview with Bhagawan Baba in 1990, appearing in Chapter 8 of this book. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba wrote a series of articles under the Vahini series, for Sanathana Sarathi, a monthly magazine being published by Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust, Publications Division, Prasanthi Nilayam. These precious articles are brought out now, under the title “Geeta Vahini”, in this book, for the benefit of readers. This is not a commentary or summary of the divine message that was given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna. It conveys the same message in a simpler form to us, in order to remove our delusion and confer faith and strength on us, so that we may realise our own reality. Bhagawan says, “Drawing on the Divine that is inherent in us is the lesson of Geeta… Arjuna is the jiva and Krishna is the Deva. When both are in contact, impregnable might results… Krishna had to work in and through Arjuna, so that the reign of Dharma (righteousness) is re-established. Arjuna means white, pure, unblemished. Hence, he is the proper instrument.” We too can become proper instruments in restoring Dharma, if we follow the lessons that Bhagawan teaches through this book.
