In connection with other educational reductions it has been proposed to close this school and send selected candidates for this special course of training to the Civil Engineering College either at Madras or Poona. 128. It is gratifying to know that of the men passed out of this school all but one have been reported on in very favorable terms by their superior officers. 129. The Hindustani Normal School, Bangalore was the only training school kept up, all others having been closed the previous year in connection with retrenchments rendered necessary by the famine. It may here be mentioned that it is intended, the coming year, to re-open a training school for Hobli school-masters in the West where great difficulty is experienced in obtaining qualified men. 130. At the final examination of the Hindustani Normal school, two out of five students were declared qualified.
