In 1990, the U.S. Congress authorized the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to conduct the Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Environmental Restoration Feasibility Study (Feasibility Study) through the General Investigations Program. The purpose of the study was to investigate the feasibility of restoring fish and wildlife habitat that was lost as a result of construction, operation, and maintenance of the Jackson Hole Flood Control Project levees completed in 1964. The primary local sponsor is Teton County, Wyoming. The study area borders the National Elk Refuge and is in close proximity to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
