The overarching goal of the Regional Monitoring Program for Water Quality in San Francisco Bay (RMP) is to answer the highest priority scientific questions faced by managers of Bay water quality. The RMP is an innovative collaboration between the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board, the regulated discharger community, the San Francisco Estuary Institute, and many other scientists and interested parties. The purpose of this document is to provide a concise overview of recent RMP activities and findings, and a look ahead to significant products anticipated in the next two years. The report includes a brief summary of some of the most noteworthy findings of this multifaceted Program; a description of the management context that guides the Program; and a summary of progress to date and future plans for addressing priority water quality topics.

This is the final version of the Report of the Regional Commission for Fisheries/Fisheries and Resources Monitoring System (RECOFI–FIRMS) Data Call Workshop – Updating stocks and fisheries inventories, Virtual Meeting, 3–4 August 2021. This workshop focused on the update of the RECOFI–FIRMS national inventories on fisheries and the development of the RECOFI inventory on marine resources based on its priority species. Recommendations from the workshop included: i) the nomination of a National Focal Points (NFPs) for Minimum Data Reporting (MDR) and for the Fisheries and Resources Monitoring System (FIRMS), who would closely collaborate; ii) an increased collaboration with the FIRMS Secretariat towards the compilation and publishing of up-to-date marine resource and fisheries inventories and fact sheets; and iii) the utilization of the RECOFI–FIRMS inventories and templates for any submission of national stock information to the Working Group on Fisheries Management (WGFM).

This annual report monitors and evaluates agricultural policies in 54 countries, including the 38 OECD countries, the five non-OECD EU Member States, and 11 emerging economies. This year’s report focuses on policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and analyses the implications of agricultural support policies for the performance of food systems.

Recent advances in the modeling and remote sensing of droughts and floods Droughts and floods are causing increasing damage worldwide, often with devastating short- and long-term impacts on human society. Forecasting when they will occur, monitoring them as they develop, and learning from the past to improve disaster management is vital. Global Drought and Flood: Observation, Modeling, and Prediction presents recent advances in the modeling and remote sensing of droughts and floods. It also describes the techniques and products currently available and how they are being used in practice.
