This book is a sequel to the authors well-received first publication, Reflections: Mirror of My Mind. In this book, he continues his exploration of the purity, serenity, and tranquility of nature that, over the years, has been in slow decline due to sustained human intervention and its insatiable drive for prosperity. With the poems Four Seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, the author beautifully captures the changing faces of nature through the seasons. Within this theme, the simplicity, purity, and joy of nature are also encapsulated in poems such as Bluebells, Birdsong, Daffodil, and Daybreak. Taking a more critical but no less engaging perspective, the overwhelming influence of machines in modern society is explored in Man and Machine, while such issues as overpopulation and pollution are evaluated in Essence of Creation and Ocean. Furthermore, the author gives us his insight into the duality of perception, conception, reason, and volition in skillfully crafted Dual Core. These are but a glimpse of the many thought-provoking poems in this book, which, like anything of value, should be revisited and savoured to be truly appreciated.

As a Christian, I share the same heartaches and problems as so many others. But my faith in God helps me deal and cope with it all. As a truck driver I have plenty of time to reflect on things as I travel the country. Most of the time I write about something I see or someone I meet, or maybe something I’m going through. Expectations of what was to be seen reflecting off of the smooth surface of the water trough was not to be. Clear blue-green water, filled to the brim clearly showed an aged face of a man mystified by a personal image. Hints of specific features were reminiscent of Father's, the family's inherited nose, dad's black eyes in furrowed brows and even Mother's hidden silent humour. Where had the years gone? Bits of recalled memories drift in and out of the mind's eye, though not in chronicle order. Dates and years as mixed up as the faces of people at various stages of life. Faces were familiar though names were difficult to recall. Dates, years and ages were non existent. The stories were most prevalent, most vivid with minute details and background facts connected to others and their stories. Farm animals; their personalities and stories also intermingled in time frames of Ed's life, maybe more affectionate than family and close friends. Animals are funny, serious and emotional.
