Reflections of a Cat Whisperer is a journey through childhood and then into life as an adult. The short stories, thoughts, and verses are descriptions of the interactions between numerous felines and me throughout the years. This collection is not one continuous story; rather it contains descriptions of moments with my thundering herd and other felines. It is about a magical way of looking at life through which I received wisdom and continue to do so from these marvellous creatures.

Developing skills and competency in CBT is a complex process of which self-observation and self-reflection are an essential part. In this new book, leading figures Beverly Haarhoff and Richard Thwaites outline the rationale for a focus on self-reflective practice in CBT, before offering practical and accessible guidelines demonstrating how this can be achieved in training and practice. Highlighting relevant research throughout and using case studies to illustrate theory in practice, ten chapters consider: - reflection in training and in supervision and self-supervision, - reflecting on the therapeutic relationship, on our sociocultural perceptions and biases and on client feedback - how reflection is vital to self-care and to becoming a better therapist, supervisor and trainer. This is an essential read for trainees in both high and low intensity CBT programmes, those on broader CBT courses, and for qualified practitioners working independently to enhance their self-reflective capacity.

The book describes how to use breathing as a medium for self-regulation and self-reflection and how balanced breathing thus helps to promote mental and physical health and alleviate symptoms resulting from imbalanced breathing. The authors describe applications of psychophysical breathing therapy in many areas of life, developed by both themselves and other professionals trained by them. The approach of the book is based on the interactional aspects between mind and body. A person's breathing style influences their relation both to themselves and to others - and vice versa, and thus mental and also physical health. A comprehensive theoretical description of the psychophysical regulation of breathing and the consequences of imbalanced breathing is complemented by material derived from the authors' extensive clinical experience. Psychological orientations used by the writers include object relations theories, and psychodynamic, cognitive, brief and group therapy theories. As a new aspect the writers introduce how breathing patterns are learnt in early interaction. The writers also acknowledge how physical factors affect and interact with psychological factors in producing imbalanced breathing.

Reflections of a Warrior is a Medal of Honor winner's true story—a Green Beret's six deadly years in the killing fields of Vietnam. PFC Franklin Miller arrived in Vietnam in March 1966, and saw his first combat in a Reconnaissance Platoon. So began an odyssey that would make him into one of the most feared and respected men in the Special Forces elite, who made their own rules in the chaos of war. In the exclusive world of the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, Studies and Observation Group, Miller ran missions deep into enemy territory to gather intelligence, snatch prisoners, and to kill. Leading small bands of battle-hardened Montagnard and Meo tribesmen, he was fierce and fearless—fighting army policy to stay in combat for six tours. On a top-secret mission in 1970, Miller and a handful of men, all critically injured, held off the NVA in an incredible Alamo-like stand—for which he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. When his time in Southeast Asia ended, he had also received the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, an Air Medal, and six Purple Hearts. This is his incredible story.
