Edward John Lawrence was born 23 February 1875 in Chesterton, Cambridge, England. His parents were William Walter Lawrence (1850-1893) and Sarah Ann Bowman or Brown (1850-1937). He married Edith Ruth Beech or Telling (1880-1975), daughter of Albert Beech and Mary Jane Day, 8 November 1899 in Powasson, Ontario, Canada. They had eight children, He died in 1957 in North Bay, Ontario.
