Random Remembrances contains forty-four autobiographical sketches picked at random, hence the title. These are all true stories based upon true events, mostly during the thirties, the period of the Great Depression, into the WW2 years and later which include my wife and family.(The first, The Birth is mostly my imagination, but its true in essence.) Growing up then wasnt easy, but that hasnt changed, its just different today. This is what it was like without television, computers, and transportation other than buses and streetcars. Very few moms had an automobile available; you walked instead of public transit, which cost about five cents.

About the Author Raised in a small town, Rikki Ford grew up with dance lessons, which eventually gave her the opportunity to travel throughout the country in the entertainment field. Living a life full of excitement, fun, and glamor, Ford learned the right choices in life that one must make.

The stained glass Blue Heron on the front cover filled the window of our Airstream Motor Home for 8 years. When we decided it was time to hang up our motor home keys and move to Normandy Farms Estates outside Philadelphia, Thea and I couldn't leave it behind. It is a great reminder of the 18 years when we spent so many months "on the road." After our second retirement, once from work and second from caravanning, I started to write about what I'd seen or remembered. There was a publication that accepted my amateur efforts, the Normandy News. As you read the articles, there is no theme or serious point of view, just thoughts of a ninety-year old, sharing stories with my growing family and many friends: telling it like I saw it.
