And when I read his "Cuadernos de Teología Pastoral" / Notebooks about Pastoral Theology, I decided to base my doctoral thesis on them, especially on the topic of Biblical Escathology, which has caught the attention and attracted the interest of readers - not only of Christian readers, but of everyone who seek knowledge about "the hereafter", about what takes place after death. In accordance with Robero Fernández Valladares, Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, this work "is essential to learn the theological and biblical foundation regarding Purgatory as well as Martin Luther's thoughts about this doctrine". Dr. Fernández also states: "The analysis of faith and of purification by faith is one of the best parts of the book, above all the explanation of these two principles: 'believing to have been justified is not to be justified' and 'faith does not justify, but the grace that comes from faith' [...]. It is Purgatory: that place of purifying penance where souls saved by Christ are made perfect and acceptable to spend life eternal in heaven. Visions of Purgatory offers a surprisingly sober and clear account of purgatory that offers more consolation than fear before this great mystery of God’s mercy. Translated from French, the text was written in the latter half of the twentieth century by an anonymous author and contains a private revelation of purgatory with annotations from the Magisterium of the Church and the teachings of the saints, above all St. Thomas Aquinas. It is organized into three parts: the first part explains the role of private revelations and how to gain profit from them; the second part contains doctrinal teachings that form a kind of treatise on purgatory; the third and final part is dedicated to revelations of souls in purgatory. Details concerning the life of the author have been omitted in order to maintain the author’s anonymity.
