Trade facilitation measures seek to speed up the movement of goods and the flow of trade information across borders. This publication contains policy papers written by the UNECE Secretariat and edited papers presented at an international forum, held in Geneva in May 2002. This conference was organised by the UNECE in order to discuss the need for trade facilitation policies to address the widening gap between the position of developed economies compared to many developing and transition countries in a global trade environment.

Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 will, to a great degree, depend on implementing a “circular economy”. In the forest sector, this relates to how we manage forests and use forest products. The Forest Products Annual Market Review covers recent trends, policies and market intelligence on forest products along with production, consumption and trade statistics for the UNECE region; all of which are critical to the role of forests in creating a more circular economy.

This study presents a survey of the experience of 21 projects in 11 countries throughout Africa. It is based primarily on visits to each of these projects, and directed to the people most directly involved in the design and implementation of agroforestry projects
