The present upgrades of the CDF and DO detectors as well as of the Fermilab Tevatron have dramatically improved their sensitivity for Standard Model and minimal supersymmetry Higgs bosons searches in Run II. This paper reviews the recent estimates of this sensitivity in terms of Higgs discovery and exclusion reach based on a total expected Run II Tevatron luminosity of 15 fb−1 delivered to each experiment.

This report presents the results of a Fermilab study of the sensitivity for Higgs boson production at the upgraded Tevatron in Run II. The study extends previous Tevatron results by combining all possible search channels, considering the production of higher mass Higgs bosons and interpreting the results in the context of supersymmetric Higgs production as well as Standard Model production.

We present a summary of our experimental understanding of the top quark and discuss the significant improvements expected in Run II at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We also discuss prospects for a Higgs boson discovery at the Tevatron.

The Standard Model of particle physics is extremely successful in describing nature. It is, however, incomplete in one major way: the masses of gauge bosons and fermions enter the Standard Model through the Higgs mechanism. In Run 2 at the Tevatron, the upgraded CDF and D0 experiments will have greatly improved sensitivity in the search for the Higgs bosons of the Standard Model and minimal supersymmetry. In the past year the Higgs Working Group of the Tevatron Run 2 SUSY/Higgs Workshop has estimated the discovery and exclusion reach for the Higgs, combining all possible search channels and utilizing all the upgraded features of both detectors. The results give strong motivation to continue the next run of the Tevatron into Run 3, with an eventual goal of up to 20 fb-1 or more delivered per experiment.
