Imagine a country over twice as large as the United States, holding four fifths of its population, and you will have an idea of the wonderful possibilities for its development. The situation of latin-america is, in ref erence to population, like that of the United States about fifty years ago, and the marvellous development of this great country took place after that time. Latin-america furnishes American industries with a considerable portion of the necessary raw material.
