This is an open access book.The 6th Biennial Conference of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) Nigeria, with the theme 'Diversity and Innovation in Science for Sustainable Development,' took place from July 2nd to July 6th, 2023. The conference commenced each day at 10 am and kicked off with a Pre-Conference Workshop titled 'Equipping Next Generation Researchers.' The event was hosted at the Ebitimi Banigo Auditorium, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and featured a hybrid format, with over 250 participants joining both in-person and virtually.The Conference encompassed nine Session Tracks, each addressing a specific aspect of scientific advancement and development:• Track 1: Digital Technologies in Science and Technology Education.• Track 2: Computational Methods and Scientific Applications.• Track 3: Green Energy and Sustainable Ecosystems.• Track 4: Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Nanotechnology.• Track 5: Smart Farming, Agricultural Processes, and Food Security.• Track 6: Environment, Climate Change, and Innovative Solutions.• Track 7: Medical and Biomedical Research.• Track 8: Engineering, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence Research.• Track 9: Social Science and Arts in Science and Medicine.These specialized tracks allowed participants to explore a wide range of topics and engage in fruitful discussions, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration, and contributing to the overarching goal of promoting diversity and innovation in science for sustainable development, with a focus on encouraging women's participation in STEM fields.

This book presents selected papers from the 6th International Conference on Indonesian Architecture and Planning (ICIAP) held during October 13-14 2022 at the Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The ICIAP is a series of biennale conferences which presents the latest developments in the field of Indonesian architecture, planning, and the governance. Each edition of the conference focuses in a specific theme, and it provides an exclusive forum for intellectually stimulating and engaging interactions among academicians and industrialists to share their recent scientific breakthroughs and emerging trends. For ICIAP 2022, the conference theme focused on “Beyond Sustainability in Design, Planning, and Innovation” and papers presented on relevant topics such as sustainable urban and regional development, sustainable architectural design, innovations for sustainability, responsive environment and challenges for sustainability. The content of this book will appeal to the researchers, academics, urban planners and policymakers who work in the field of sustainable architecture design, planning and innovation.

Nematodes continue to threaten horticultural crops throughout the world, particularly in tropical and sub-tropical regions. Estimated overall average annual yield loss of the world's major horticultural crops due to damage by plant parasitic nematodes is 13.54%. Monetary losses due to nematodes on 10 horticultural crops, six of which are life sustaining were estimated at US$ 19.37 billion annually based on 1984 production figures and prices. These deleterious effects on plant growth result in reduced yields and poor quality of horticultural crops. Nematode management is therefore, important for high yields and quality that are required by the high cost of modern crop production. The information on nematode diseases and their management, especially crop wise, is very much scattered and there is no book which deals entirely with the above aspects on horticultural crops. This book deals with nematode diseases and their management in horticultural crops such as fruit, vegetable, orname-ntal, medicinal, aromatic, plantation, spice and tuber crops. Each nematode disease is described in adequate detail under the following heads: economic importance, crop losses, distribution, symptoms, hosts range, life cycle, races/ biotypes, host-parasite relationship, histopathology, ecology, spread, survival, interaction with other pathogens and management. The management methods presented includes regulatory, physical cultural, chemical, biological, host resistance and integrated approach. An entire chapter is devoted for sources of availability of critical inputs used for nematode management which would be very useful to the farmers. Very useful information on certain aspects of nematode management is presented in Appendix. The book is adequately illustrated with about 50 figures. This book is a practical guide to practicing farmers of horticultural crops. Further, it is a useful reference to policy makers, research and extension workers and students. The material can also be used for teaching under-graduate and post-graduate courses.

Since the publication of "The coconut palm - A monograph" in 1960, considerable information has been accrued on the crop through work at research institutes, international organisations and development agencies. Although coconut cultivation is spread over 93 countries, providing employment and creating livelihood opportunities to 64 million families around the globe, smallholder coconut farmers are now facing numerous challenges. The wide gap between the potential and actual yield is a major concern, and as such it is necessary to disseminate knowledge in order to implement research findings. Coconut research in India, one of the leading coconut producing countries, is celebrating its centenary, making this an opportune time to review the research and development advances and the relevant technologies. Tea is a popular non-alcoholic beverage that maintains exclusivity as well as mass appeal for respite and relaxation. Tea is fast gaining importance for its health benefits as a nutraceutical. In addition to its global end-use, tea plantations as a whole are undergoing a transition towards mechanization, and agro-technolotgies for farm mechanization have been rationalized. With the advent of biotechnological approaches, management of genetic resources and plant improvement are evolving, both for improving productivity and quality under normal and stress environments. Tea manufacture is also undergoing process of transformation due to the advent of new machines with precise and controlled steps of manufacture.
