The 1982 Joint Symposium on Stationary Combustion NO[subscript x] Control was held November 1 through 4 in Dallas, Texas. This was the second symposium on NO[subscript x] control jointly sponsored by EPA and EPRI; the first was held in Denver in 1980. The symposium is a consolidation of EPRI's previous NO[subscript x] Control Technology Seminars and EPA's Symposia on Stationary Source Combustion. The objective of the symposium is to give attendees the opportunity to exchange information on the latest advances in combustion technology. Such an exchange of information contributes significantly to the development of cost-effective and reliable NO[subscript x] control systems.

The 1989 Joint Symposium on Stationary Combustion NO[subscript x] Control was held March 6-9, 1989, in San Francisco, California. This symposium, jointly sponsored by EPRI and EPA, was the fifth of its kind deveoted solely to the discussion of control of NO[subscript x] emissions from stationary sources. Specific topics discussed included low-NO[subscript x] combustion developments such as burner design modifications and reburning; coal-, oi-, and gas-fired boiler applications; flue gas treatment processes; fundamental combustion studies; and industrial and commercial applications. Also presented were manufacturers' updates of commercially available technology and an overview of environmental issues involving NO[subscript x] control.

The two-volume proceedings document the 1987 Joint (EPA and EPRI) Symposium on Stationary Combustion NO[subscript x] Control, held March 23-26, 1987, in New Orleans, LA. The papers discuss: low-NO[subscript x] combustion developments (e.g., reburning and burner design modifications); coal-, oil-, and gas-fired boiler applications; flue gas treatment processes; fundamental combustion studies; and industrial and commercial applications.
