"The Court Jurisdiction and Proceedings Transfer Act puts the important topic of the jurisdiction of Canadian provincial courts in civil and commercial cases on a clearer statutory footing. It is in force in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. The approach to jurisdiction adopted under the CJPTA is different in several respects from the common law approach, and so provinces that have adopted it are undergoing a period of transition. One of the key issues for courts in applying the CJPTA is interpreting its provisions and explaining how they operate. Statutory Jurisdiction: An Analysis of the Court Jurisdiction and Proceedings Transfer Act examines the growing body of cases and provides a comprehensive account of how the CJPTA is being interpreted and applied by the courts"--P. Excerpt from Archives of Maryland: Proceedings and Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, April, 1684 June, 1692 The present volume Continues the Proceedings and Acts of the Assembly from April, 1684, to June, 1692. The continuity is broken by the revolutionary outbreak Of 1689, no journal Of the Associators' Assembly having been preserved. To fill this gap to some extent we have inserted copies Of documents preserved in the Public Record Office, London; but for fuller details the Council Records must be consulted. This revolutionary Assembly, which handed over the Province to the King, was succeeded by one elected under the new order Of things, and presided over by Lionel Copley, the first royal governor, which, among other fundamental changes, repealed all existing statutes in mass, and promulgated a new code, which is here given in full. The sources for the session Of 1684 are the original journals of the two Houses, small unbound cahiers; that Of the Lower House being in a damaged condition, but missing words have been supplied from a later Copy. Of the session Of 1686 no journal Of either House has been pre served, and we print the Acts only. Of the session of 1688 we have no Lower House journal, and for the Upper House only a Copy made in the last century. The Acts Of these three sessions are preserved in Lib. Wh. Excerpt from Proceedings and Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, May, 1717 April, 1720: Published by Authority of the State Under the Direction of the Maryland Historical Society Charles, Lord Baltimore, who came to the title in 1715, was a minor, and while he declared his intention to live and die in the Church of England, many of his near kinsmen were Roman Catholics, and his guardian, Lord Guilford, was of Jacobite sympathies and in after years was received into the communion of the Roman Catholic Church. Governor Hart had, moreover, a personal grievance against Mr. Carroll, growing out of a dispute over the custody of the Proprietary's Great Seal, and the enjoyment of the fees which were attached to it.
