When his sister falls ill, Kristof is ordered to assume a duty never meant for him: become the Duke of Stehlmore and marry a notorious Prince of the Blood. It is one of the oldest honors and duties undertaken by his family, but Kristof feels only resentment that he must leave behind all he knows to serve an arrogant half-demon. His resentment must be set aside, however, when evil is found lurking far too close to the castle—an evil that has many pieces, controlled by someone they cannot find and who always seems one step ahead of them. Angela Culver left this world with one last wish. She requests that her five sons, all born of different fathers, embark on a seven-day, 275-mile bicycle trip across southern Iowa. She knows she failed them as a mother, protector, provider, and source of comfort while she was alive, but Angela now wants them to rediscover the importance of family. The five half-brothersRobert, Herbert, Philbert, Tolbert, and Albertlive separate and very diverse lives from each other. They must each gather the emotional, physical, and psychological strength to complete the ride. The journey from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River creates not only sore, tender muscles but also conjures aching, tender memories. To succeed in this trek, they must be able to forgive: forgive Angela for her failures as a mother, forgive one anothers youth for the roles each played against the others, and forgive themselves for the self-contempt that they have been carrying since escaping the house of their childhood. They learn about themselves and each other, and they begin to form the bonds that might allow them to be full brothers to each other.

Gesa does NOT have a pride. Only male gryphons need a whole harem of lovers to stroke their egos. But when a fortune-telling fox from the county fair and a captive mute sea-dweller turn to Gesa for help, she can’t turn them away. Sometimes being a creature of valor and loyalty is a pain in the ass. Meanwhile, Gesa’s stubborn fae lover, Oisin, is on edge. Danger is creeping nearer, and he is determined to face it alone, as he always has—even if it destroys him. Add in a controlling politician of unknown origin, the building family drama Gesa is determined to ignore back in the clan lands, and some time spent tracking down imps. Maybe it will take an entire pride to survive this after all. Author’s Note: I was tired of reading the same old thing over and over again in reverse harem. Sick of all alpha male and fainting female all the time—and desperate to be able to tell the male characters apart—I tried to infuse some variety into my story. Gesa might not be your cup of tea, and that’s okay—she doesn’t care. Her lovers are as varied in physicality and personality as they are in supernatural race. And the characters all have their own definition of sexuality. I know reverse harem is all about the fantasy, and my fantasy is a bit outside the norm. You’ve been warned. Story length definitions: Flash fiction: 200-2,000 words Short story: 1,500-7,500 words Novelette: 7,500-15,000 words Novella: 15,000-40,000 words Novel: 50,000 words and up. *Gesa’s Menagerie books are novellas of between 30,000-40,000 words.*
