The proceedings of the First Multidisciplinary International Symposium on Positive Systems Theory and Applications (POSTA 2003) held in Rome, Italy, August 28-30, 2003. This text is devoted to the positive multivariable 1D and 2D linear, time-invariant, finite-dimensional system. The book is based on the author's lectures for Ph.D. students, delivered at Warsaw University of Technology in the academic year 1999/2000.
