Poetry from Beyond the Grave is the first English publication of a large selection of poems by the Brazilian medium and Spiritist leader Francisco Cândido “Chico” Xavier. These poems, originally collected in the volume Parnaso de Além-Túmulo, were dictated to Xavier by a variety of spirits of Brazilian poets from the afterlife, as journeying souls or as witnesses of the spiritual city Nosso Lar, “our house.” Poetry from Beyond the Grave is a veritable collection of haunted writing, in which poets present their posthumous work as if they were alive. The brilliant translation by Vitor Pequeno is supplemented by an extensive afterword by Jeremy Fernando, who traces what it means to speak through the other.

Red spider lilies are bright summer flowers associated with death. It is said to be the color that sucked the blood of the people by the color of that red flowers was buried. It is a flower that has been appreciated by people in the past. However, in modern times seeing the cluster amaryllis ( Red spider lilies) in the grave is disliked because it associates with death. It is also known as "Higanbana flower", "hell flower" and "lycoris radiata" . In this poetry book, The concept was to create a number of poems that are said by those who are lying in their graves. The times when they try to call out to the ones they love, their past regrets and sometimes their yearning for a second chance in life. The poems are somewhat dark and pessimistic, and reflects the state of depression that may be perceived behind closed coffins. Hence, the naming of this poetry book.

WINNER OF THE 2022 PULITZER PRIZE "A compelling and important history that this nation desperately needs to hear." -Bryan Stevenson, New York Times bestselling author of Just Mercy and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative Chasing Me to My Grave presents the late artist Winfred Rembert's breathtaking body of work alongside his story, as told to Tufts Philosopher Erin I. Kelly. Rembert grew up in a family of Georgia field laborers, joined the Civil Rights Movement as a teenager, survived a near-lynching at the hands of law enforcement, and spent seven years on chain gangs. There he learned the leather tooling skills that became the bedrock of his autobiographical paintings. Years later, encouraged by his wife, Patsy, Rembert brought his past to vibrant life in scenes of joy and terror, from the promise of southern Black commerce to the brutality of chain gang labor. Vivid, confrontational, revelatory, and complex, Chasing Me to My Grave is a searing memoir in prose and painted leather that celebrates Black life and summons readers to confront painful and urgent realities at the heart of American society. The forever rebellious Clothilde’s gravestone only mentions her first name and date of death. A small bump in the ground next to her grave marks former police officer Robert’s last resting place. And in thirty years, no visitors for either of them. Confined within the cemetery borders and yearning for closure to move on, the two ghosts can’t go after the people who killed them. Until Clothilde receives her very first visitor — and along with it, the means to escape the cemetery. Beyond the Grave is the first novel in the Ghost Detective series, following Robert and Clothilde in their search for justice.
