El contenido incluido en la publicación `Las olvidadas? corresponde a las comunicaciones y mesas redondas que, con motivo de las V Jornadas de Introducción a los Estudios de la Mujer organizadas por el Seminario de Estudios de la Mujer de la UHU, congregó a un grupo de investigadoras de diferentes universidades, profesionales del ámbito de la educación y los servicios sociales, organizaciones públicas y privadas y a mujeres de diversos colectivos. Como resultado de la reflexión y del intercambio se ha concluido que la diferenciación de género no tiene un impacto homogéneo en todos los individuos sino que está mediada por las características del contexto familiar, social, económico, étnicas, etc. De ahí que para mujeres pertenecientes a grupos socioculturalmente considerados diferentes y, en muchos casos inferiores, como las de etnia gitana, las inmigrantes, las mujeres discapacitadas, las prostituidas o simplemente las mujeres mayores, suponga a veces problemas de identidad. Esta publicación pretende ser un acercamiento al conocimiento de estos colectivos de mujeres y la posibilidad de hacerlas un poco más ?visibles? a la sociedad para que dejen de ser las olvidadas entre las olvidadas.
