This volume discusses Mamluk historical texts with an emphasis on literary/stylistic analysis, basically ignoring issues of 'factuality' versus 'fictivity'. None of the authors set out to write 'fiction'; nor would their audience have received their accounts as such. The events depicted were a matter of historical record; but their meaning was geared both to contemporary and to general concerns. The fact of telling them is part and parcel of the historian's task; the means of telling them has to do with the historian's choice of style; and style is all-important in conveying meaning. Were these accounts not considered 'true', the purpose behind their telling and the meaning they convey, would, arguably, be lost; but were they not told in the most effective manner, their meaning might not be clearly grasped.

This book is about my love and passion for African Americans who as slaves, came to the shores of America in 1619 and although they are free citizens today, but their color has been associated with their slave mentality and it is with us and ongoing. We need to do something to bring equality of blacks and whites in our country so we can see everybody in the light of who they are, not what the color of their skins are. The author’s first book; “The Economy of Waste”, has been just published by Author House on 3/08/21. The book is about “Healthy” and “Unhealthy” economy and the balance between “Needs” and “Wants” of people.

Does ones faith change with age? In Pilgriming: A Journey into the Faith of Age, Robert Cotner explores some answers to this question. In a world driven by anti-intellectualism, Cotners voice resonates. His is a call to embrace what is sublime and to hold boldly what is true. It is a challenge for Americans to understand from whence they came and, with intellectual rigor, claim anew the heritage of mind and spirit that makes America the land of promise in the 21st Century. Written for people of all faiths and people of no faith, this book is a testament of one mans informed faith standing tall against a crumbling landscape.
