In January 2019, Commonwealth conducted a supplemental archaeological survey to test a 700-foot (ft) (2.9-acre) extension of the APE [area of potential effect] along Popes Head Road, west of the Fairfax County Parkway, to Quiet Brook Road ... The purpose of the current supplemental investigation is to survey an expansion of the APE due to project design revisions. Commonwealth conducted an archaeological survey within the APE for direct effects (archaeological APE) and a reconnaissance architectural survey of the APE for indirect effects (architectural APE)."--Introduction.
