Jeannie Freeman's disappearance during the Rapid City Middle School's field trip into the neighboring Black Hills of South Dakota was the local tragedy of the decade. Six months later, Detective Dakota 'Dak' Johnson unearthed a nightmarish Pandora's box burrowed into the heart of this mystery. He brought the discovery to the girl's mother, Ghini Freeman. A woman who would sacrifice the world for one more singular moment with her "likkle girl." Could monsters be to blame for her daughter's abduction? Ghini doesn't want to believe it. Unfortunately, such beliefs are starting to look like a luxury as more disappearances occur around Ghini's small mountain town. You thought you knew about monsters, but you don't know about the Queen of them all. She and her progeny are the originators of the entire monster mythos. And, they walk amongst us all in the daylight . . . They are -- The Vespids.

Devilish machinations that could skirt the greatest threat to their survival -- frigid temperatures. Could this be the end of Rapid City? Will Ghini and her ragtag family be able to uncover the Vespids' hive in time, or will the Queen's machinations unleash a plague on her home unlike anything she's ever seen? Satellite Earth observation (EO) data have already exceeded the petabyte scale and are increasingly freely and openly available from different data providers. This poses a number of issues in terms of volume (e.g., data volumes have increased 10× in the last 5 years); velocity (e.g., Sentinel-2 is capturing a new image of any given place every 5 days); and variety (e.g., different types of sensors, spatial/spectral resolutions). Traditional approaches to the acquisition, management, distribution, and analysis of EO data have limitations (e.g., data size, heterogeneity, and complexity) that impede their true information potential to be realized. Addressing these big data challenges requires a change of paradigm and a move away from local processing and data distribution methods to lower the barriers caused by data size and related complications in data management. To tackle these issues, EO data cubes (EODC) are a new paradigm revolutionizing the way users can store, organize, manage, and analyze EO data. This Special Issue is consequently aiming to cover the most recent advances in EODC developments and implementations to broaden the use of EO data to larger communities of users, support decision-makers with timely and actionable information converted into meaningful geophysical variables, and ultimately unlock the information power of EO data.

This popular guidebook by expert Kev Reynolds describes 100 day walks focusing on the mountain huts of the Alps. With walks in France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Slovenia, there are routes to suit every taste - from gentle and undemanding to long and tough, as well as all varieties of difficulty in between. What they have in common is a visit to a hut, each with its own character. Some walks are perfect for lunch at a hut before a return to the valley base, others involve an overnight stay at a hut. In a few cases, a short hut-to-hut tour is suggested. The routes are grouped by country and by specific Alpine district. Most of the routes avoid any climbing of a technical nature, beyond the odd scramble aided by a fixed rope. Notes on hut etiquette, what to take and an English-French-German-Italian glossary are also included to help trekkers get the most out of their time in the Alps.
