Zekarias Kebraeb was just seventeen when he fled his home in Eritrea in 2002 to escape his impending forced military service. To stay would have meant abuse, torture, and possibly even his death. Zekarias had no idea that his journey would span four years, and no concept of how brutal some of the choices along the way would be. He was marched through the wilderness, spent two weeks crossing the Sahara in a truck with no food and far too little water, and then traversed the Mediterranean Sea from Tripoli to Italy in a tiny rowboat. But Zekarias is just one of 67 million refugees in the world today, according to a report by the UN Refugee Agency. Since the beginning of the year and the revolutions in North Africa, more than 30,000 people have fled the region. Behind each number, however, lies the fate of a human being. PARADISE DENIED gives a face to the thousands of refugees who have no choice but leave behind their homes and risk their lives while hoping for a better destiny for themselves and their family.

I have written many books and articles on various topics but since 2013, I have devoted myself fully in writing the interpretation of the Holy Quran in English and with the grace of Allah, I have completed the whole Quran on 29th October 2020 with 84 books. I believe there is a great need in the whole world for the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran to be written in English. Currently, there is a great misunderstanding about Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims globally. The misunderstanding of the meaning of the Holy Quran among Muslims will lead to the wrong practice of Islam which leads to the wrong actions of Muslims. The wrong actions of Muslims will lead to misunderstandings about Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims. The wrong actions of the Muslims have led to many miseries and wars among Muslims. The wrong actions of Muslims have also led to many wars and clashes between Muslims and non-Muslims. In order to avoid miseries, wars and clashes from taking place between the whole mankind in the whole world, the whole mankind in the whole world need to understand the true teaching of Islam. There is no other way for the whole mankind to understand the true teaching of Islam unless the whole mankind is able to read and understand the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran. The whole mankind is only able to read and understand the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran when it is written in the universal language of the world (English). For this very reason I have written the interpretation of the Holy Quran in English. Prof. Nasoha Bin Saabin

Women, especially leaders, holding tête-à-têtes with men to address political impasses have been recognized as shrewd, double headed, or witchlike distinctions that link them with juju or extraordinary, survivalist powers. Juju Fission: Women's Alternative Fictions from the Sahara, the Kalahari, and the Oases In-Between is a theoretical and analytical book on African women writers that focuses on seven representative novels from different parts of Africa: Bessie Head's Maru (South Africa/Botswana); Nawal El Saadawi's Woman at Point Zero (Egypt); Ama Ata Aidoo's Our Sister Killjoy; or Reflections from a Black-Eyed Squint and Changes (Ghana); Assia Djebar's A Sister to Scheherazade (Algeria); Calixthe Beyala's The Sun Hath Looked Upon Me (Cameroon); and Yvonne Vera's Nehanda (Zimbabwe). In her analysis, Chikwenye Okonjo Ogunyemi demonstrates how women are viewed and how they operate in critical times. Ogunyemi explains how the heritage is passed on, in spite of dire situations emanating from colonialism, postcolonialism, ethnicism, sexism, and grinding poverty. An important contribution to many fields, Juju Fission is excellent background material for courses on African studies, women's studies, African Diaspora studies, black studies, global studies, and general literature studies.

Capitalism is in crisis! People are suffering, and the natural world is going to hell in a handcart. So long as they can get what they want, the richest 1% seems prepared to trash the environment and make others sacrifice anything. The whole purpose of civilisation has been bent to serve the interests of their Profit Machine, and we, the 99%, are pressed into service like slaves to keep their Profit Machine working. With increasing virulence, the capitalist system hunts down and demonises its scapegoats, blaming its victims for the horrors that it heaps upon them - the unemployed, the sick and disabled, the single parent - none are safe from its vile attacks. With unrestrained furious indignation, Daniel Miles, philosopher and activist, and Karl Gruber, maverick Christian minister, join in a quest to challenge the bad ideas that have led to the present global economic and social crises. From one key evil, the exploitation of the individual, all the other evils of our time flow forth in a sickening torrent.
