It appears that the particular behavior patterns and the total personality are overwhelmingly conditioned by the types of Situations and trains of experience encountered by the individual in the course of his life. The question of heredity remains a factor, but this is also being studied in terms of behav ior; it is, in fact, defined as the phylogenetic memory of experience - memory organically incorporated.
