This book is a substantive record of the ancestry of the Owens families of the northern neck of Virginia, from A.D. 1960 to approximately 1178 B.C. The first chapter is specific to my family tree, starting with my grandfather, Eustace Conway Owens, then following his lineage back to Brutus Silvius, the founder and first King of Britain. John Owens married Rebecca Haile. He died in 1712 in Richmond County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Illinois, Maryland, and elsewhere.

The story or narrative of each person begins with the second paragraph. This usually starts with information regarding the subject's place of birth or marriage with a list of their children. Where available, biographical information is provided for the subject's children, or a short sub-paragraph of available facts. In the case of limited information, the subject's story or narrative may be a short statement giving the reason for the lack of information. It is my hope that you and anyone else interested in the ancestry of America will enjoy these pages, and that it sparks your imagination and interest in researching your family history.
