LA PROBLEMATIQUE DES TRAVAUX REALISES DANS LE CADRE DE CETTE THESE S'EST RAPIDEMENT IMPOSEE COMME : EST-IL POSSIBLE D'EMPLOYER UNE METHODE D'OPTIMISATION NUMERIQUE AU SEIN D'UN PROCESSUS DE CONCEPTION INDUSTRIEL DE FORMES AERODYNAMIQUES ? LES APPROCHES QUI SATISFONT LES EXIGENCES INDUSTRIELLES SONT CELLES QUI PROPOSENT UNE RECHERCHE D'OPTIMUM LOCAL D'UN PROBLEME CONTRAINT PAR DES TECHNIQUES DE GRADIENT, IMPLEMENTEES AU SEIN D'UNE CHAINE DE CALCUL ROBUSTE, DE PILOTAGE AISE PAR DES NON-SPECIALISTES DES ALGORITHMES D'OPTIMISATION. L'ORTHOGONALISATION DES DEGRES DE LIBERTE PROPOSEE DANS CETTE THESE REDUIT L'INFLUENCE DU CONDITIONNEMENT DU PROBLEME D'OPTIMISATION SUR LE TRAVAIL DU CONCEPTEUR. DEUX APPLICATIONS ILLUSTRENT LE POTENTIEL DES METHODES D'OPTIMISATION : LA MINIMISATION SOUS CONTRAINTES DES EFFETS DE SOUFFLE DES HELICES SUR UNE VOILURE ET LA MINIMISATION SOUS CONTRAINTES DE LA TRAINEE DE CHOC D'UNE VOILURE EN REGIME TRANSSONIQUE. CE SUJET DE THESE A FAIT L'OBJET D'UN CONTRAT CIFRE ENTRE AEROSPATIALE ET L'UNIVERSITE PAUL SABATIER. CETTE COLLABORATION A PERMIS D'OUVRIR UN SECOND FRONT DE RECHERCHE : LES RECENTES TECHNIQUES DE DIFFERENTIATION AUTOMATIQUE DE PROGRAMMES INFORMATIQUES PEUVENT-ELLES S'APPLIQUER A L'OPTIMISATION DE FORMES AERODYNAMIQUES INDUSTRIELLES ? LES TECHNIQUES DE DIFFERENTIATION AUTOMATIQUE (ADOLC ET ADOGEN) ONT ETE APPLIQUEES A UN CODE RESOLVANT LES EQUATIONS DU POTENTIEL COMPLET AINSI QU'A UN CODE RESOLVANT L'EQUATION DU POTENTIEL COMPLET. DANS LE CAS DU POTENTIEL LINEARISE, IL A ETE POSSIBLE DE CONSTRUIRE LE POLYNOME DE TAYLOR DU CHAMP DE VITESSE AUTOUR D'UN PROFIL D'AILE PAR RAPPORT A UNE VARIATION D'EPAISSEUR DU PROFIL. CE CAS TEST A MIS EN EVIDENCE L'EXISTENCE D'UN RAYON DE CONVERGENCE FINI. DANS LE CAS DU POTENTIEL COMPLET, UNE METHODOLOGIE DE TRAITEMENT DES DISCONTINUITES DE PENTE ET DES NON-LINEARITES A ETE PROPOSEE POUR OBTENIR UN DEVELOPPEMENT EN SERIE DE TAYLOR.

The International Code on Intact Stability 2008 (2008 IS Code), presents mandatory and recommendatory stability criteria and other measures for ensuring the safe operation of ships, to minimize the risk to such ships, to the personnel on board and to the environment. The 2008 IS Code took effect on 1 July 2010. The 2008 IS Code features:a full update of the previous IS Code; criteria based on the best state-of-the-art concepts available at the time they were developed, taking into account sound design and engineering principles and experience gained from operating ships; influences on intact stability such as the dead ship condition, wind on ships with large windage area, rolling characteristics and severe seas. This publication also presents Explanatory Notes to the 2008 IS Code, intended to provide administrations and the shipping industry with specific guidance to assist in the uniform interpretation and application of the intact stability requirements of the 2008 IS Code.

What if you could someday put the manufacturing power of an automobile plant on your desktop? It may sound far-fetched-but then, thirty years ago, the notion of "personal computers" in every home sounded like science fiction. According to Neil Gershenfeld, the renowned MIT scientist and inventor, the next big thing is personal fabrication -the ability to design and produce your own products, in your own home, with a machine that combines consumer electronics with industrial tools. Personal fabricators (PF's) are about to revolutionize the world just as personal computers did a generation ago. PF's will bring the programmability of the digital world to the rest of the world, by being able to make almost anything-including new personal fabricators. In FAB , Gershenfeld describes how personal fabrication is possible today, and how it is meeting local needs with locally developed solutions. He and his colleagues have created "fab labs" around the world, which, in his words, can be interpreted to mean "a lab for fabrication, or simply a fabulous laboratory." Using the machines in one of these labs, children in inner-city Boston have made saleable jewelry from scrap material. Villagers in India used their lab to develop devices for monitoring food safety and agricultural engine efficiency. Herders in the Lyngen Alps of northern Norway are developing wireless networks and animal tags so that their data can be as nomadic as their animals. And students at MIT have made everything from a defensive dress that protects its wearer's personal space to an alarm clock that must be wrestled into silence. These experiments are the vanguard of a new science and a new era-an era of "post-digital literacy" in which we will be as familiar with digital fabrication as we are with the of information processing. In this groundbreaking book, the scientist pioneering the revolution in personal fabrication reveals exactly what is being done, and how. The technology of FAB will allow people to create the objects they desire, and the kind of world they want to live in.

In this investigation of the possibility of craft in the digital realm, the author discusses the emergence of computation as a medium, rather than just a set of tools, suggesting a growing correspondence between digital work and traditional craft.

Summary: A technical method is given for calculating the axial interference velocity of a propeller. The method involves the use of certain weight functions P, Q, and F. Numerical values for the weight functions are given for two-blade, three-blade, and six-blade propellers.
