This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Conceptual Structures, ICCS 2020, held in Bolzano, Italy, in September 2020.* The 10 full papers, 5 short papers and 1 poster paper presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 24 submissions. The proceedings also include two keynotes and two tutorials. The papers focus on the representation of and reasoning with conceptual structures in a variety of contexts. The topics of this year's conference range from formal concept analysis to decision making, from machine learning to natural language processing. *The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recording knowledge in a common framework that would make it possible to seamlessly share global knowledge remains an important challenge for researchers. This brief examines several ideas about the representation of knowledge addressing this challenge. A widespread general agreement is followed that states uniform knowledge representation should be achievable by using ontologies populated with concepts. FOIS is the flagship conference of the International Association for Ontology and its Applications (IAOA). Its interdisciplinary research focus lies at the intersection of philosophical ontology, linguistics, logic, cognitive science, and computer science, as well as in the applications of ontological analysis to conceptual modeling, knowledge engineering, knowledge management, information-systems development, library and information science, scientific research, and semantic technologies in general. The promise of the Semantic Web is that future web pages will be annotated not only with bright colors and fancy fonts as they are now, but with annotation extracted from large domain ontologies that specify, to a computer in a way that it can exploit, what information is contained on the given web page.
