In the Islamic world view, God is the ultimate legislator. The five major schools that are used in the comparison are: Hanafi, Hanbali, Shafi'i, Maliki and Jaf'ari. The issue is divorce is discussed in this present book, volume 6 of 8. The three main criteria for divorce are: adulthood, sanity and free volition. As with other legal issues there are a lot of similarities and differences between the five Schools of thought.
