White Cube was pleased to present nineteen new paintings by Damien Hirst. The exhibition was staged at White Cube Mason's Yard and White Cube Hoxton Square. At White Cube Hoxton Square, Hirst presented a group of paintings, which included three triptychs from 2007-09, each depicting crows shot in mid-flight against blue skies, with outspread wings and violent splatters of red paint across their bodies. In the four triptychs on show in the lower ground floor at White Cube Mason's Yard, these crows reappear, as omens of bad news. They often share the space with ghost-like figures, skeletal forms and objects, including chairs, lemons, knives, animal skulls, wine glasses or a scorpion.

'A gorgeous, gorgeous book, full of love, written from the heart. I adored every page!' Bestselling author, Judy Leigh Alex would like to believe she’s a woman who has it all. Or that’s what she tells everyone, including herself. But this is far from true. Actually she’s on the cusp of losing her home, her dream career as a writer is in tatters, her ex won’t speak to her, and her mother’s gone forever. But then a chance meeting with a stranger named Hope gives her the opportunity of a lifetime, when Hope jokes that perhaps Alex should take over her job in a café while she goes travelling. Just at that moment, it sounds like the answer to all her problems. So Alex persuades Hope to let her step into her shoes for a month. She brushes away Hope’s attempts to explain about the café, instead demanding to know more about the owner Tom. But she should have asked for more details. Because the ‘Wrong Order Café’ isn’t like anywhere she’s ever been before. And Alex’s life is about to change forever... A gorgeously uplifting story about memories, storytelling, love and friendship, about the journeys we take and the people we meet, what we remember and how there are some things we can never forget. When did spirituality get so serious? As if you’ve got to take a year off and spend it in the lotus position somewhere in the hills of India. What if discovering the meaning of your life could be done with a beer in one hand and a box of Cheez-Its in the other? I Know Nothing is the sequel to Nothing Matters, an offbeat memoir about a woman who, in the space of a few short months, lost her job, her relationship of 15 years and everything else she thought mattered. In a fit of screw-the-Universe retaliation, she moved to Maui where she came to realize all those seemingly disastrous events were actually well-placed stepping stones on a path toward a deeper understanding of the things that truly matter. I Know Nothing takes place on Maui, but the everyday situations that provoke new insights could take place anywhere. With her deft wording and singular sense of humor, Denise Wilson shares the experiences that have propelled her just a little further down the cosmic highway. Are you a spiritual hitchhiker looking for a ride? If you are, grab your backpack and hop in. This book is pulling over for you.

'This book is a much-needed, unique and very practical guide to how you can use the new knowledge of the gut microbes to improve your health as well as developing and expanding your skills in the kitchen.' Tim Spector 'It is impossible to read this book without wanting to scuttle off into the kitchen.' Nigella Lawson Foreword by Tim Spector The benefits of sourdough are well known - the slow fermentation process creates a healthier and lighter dough that is easier to digest - but until now they have been mainly linked to bread. If it rises, however, it can be made with sourdough, and in this ground-breaking new book, Vanessa Kimbell focuses on sweet sourdough bakes that not only nourish the gut but also improve your mood. Using a variety of flours, including chestnut, spelt and einkorn, as well as blends you can make up yourself, the classic recipes and new ideas for flavour combinations cover everything from cakes, tarts and biscuits, to doughnuts, brioche and pretzels, and rely on natural sweetness wherever possible. Recipes include Morello Cherry Shortbread, Chocolate, Tangerine & Pistachio Cakes, Carrot & Walnut Cake, Doughnuts and Mille-feuille as well as vinegars, compotes, cultured creams, butters and ghee. There is even Chocolate, Almond & Hazelnut Spread and Sourdough Vanilla Ice Cream. Vanessa also explains how sourdough helps to maintain the health and diversity of your gut microbiome. From understanding the benefits of having diversity in your diet to the amazing work of enzymes, this book is about understanding the connection between our food, gut microbiome and the potential impact on our mental health. New studies are unveiling links between the microorganisms in our gut and our mood and behaviour, and Vanessa is at the forefront of this research. 'Britain's queen of sourdough.' - Telegraph 'Vanessa Kimbell wants to change the bread we eat, one loaf at a time. She's the real deal: a total inspiration.' - Diana Henry 'Just five years ago if someone said to you that they were writing a book about sourdough bread and mental health you would have thought they needed psychiatric help. Today nobody is laughing as the latest science tells us that microbes are the key link between food and the health of our mind and bodies.' - Tim Spector, author of The Diet Myth
