La presente publicación recopila los requisitos técnicos específicos relativos a las condiciones sanitarias de los cementerios y construcciones funerarias asociadas de las 17 comunidades autónomas españolas, proporcionando un compendio de las principales diferencias y elementos en común contemplados en las distintas normas de sanidad ambiental.Con esta guía práctica pretendemos que sirva de herramienta de consulta tanto para el sector profesional (proyectistas, empresas funerarias, gestores, fabricantes, constructores, etc), administraciones públicas en sus diferentes niveles, así como la sociedad civil en su conjunto (asociaciones, agentes sociales, usuarios...), con el propósito de difundir los criterios mínimos necesarios para lograr ambientes libres de riesgos en espacios de uso colectivo.

Destacados especialistas de todo el mundo debatieron en Sevilla sobre la historia y los aspectos urbanísticos, arquitectónicos, higiénicos y sociológicos de la arquitectura funeraria. La publicación tiene como finalidad concienciar a la sociedad andaluza sobre el valor patrimonial de nuestros cementerios y su riqueza artística y arquitectónica, histórica y antropológica.
