Excerpt from Fourteenth Biennial Report of the Trustees, Superintendent and Treasurer of the Illinois Institution for the Blind, at Jacksonville: October 1st, 1876 Sir -the trustees of the institution for the education of the blind respectfully submit their fourteenth biennial report, for the period of twenty-two months, from December lst, 1874, to September 30th, 1876. The report of the superintendent, appended, we make a part of our own, and refer your Excellency to it for a detailed statement of the condition and finances Of the institution. It has been thought best, in conforming to the law, to make the latter report in an annual orm. The quarterly supervision Of the board and the personal supervision of the president have enabled us to become thoroughly acquainted with the workings Of the institution, during the past two years, and we take great pleasure in being able to commend the superintendent, matrons, and all the teachers and officers for the zeal, interest and efficiency displayed by them in the discharge of their respective duties. The energies Of those having the institution in charge have been devoted to the Spiritual, intellectual and physical improvement Of the pupils.
