Storrs Pond Dam is an earthen embankment structure with an overall length of 140 ft. Maximum height as measured from the crest of the dam to the streambed is 33.75 ft. Top width is 10 ft., and the upstream and downstream embankments are on a 2 1/2 horizontal to 1 vertical slope. The spillway is a circular drop inlet type, with an inside diameter of 10.0 ft. and is located near the center of the dam. The visual inspection revealed that the dam is in fair condition. It also revealed that deterioration of the concrete surface of the spillway and the invert of the spillway discharge tunnel. It is small in size with a hazard potential of significant. Upper Reservoir Dam is a earthen structure with an overall length of 1340 ft. The dam has a height of 30 ft. as measured from the streambed to the crest of the dam. The top width is 9 ft. The upstream face is on a 2.25 horizontal to 1 vertical slope and the downstream slope is 2 horizontal to 1 vertical. The spillway consists of a 25 ft. long crest, concrete weir with training walls, which outlets to a 10 ft. wide stone wall channel. The dam is considered to be in good condition. Butterfield Pond Dam is a stone-filled gravity structure about 210 feet in overall length and 12.5 feet high from crest of dam to toe of slope, Located in the center of the dam is the principal overflow section which is 57 feet long and consists of a concrete capped, stone weir with concrete training walls, Near the middle of the overflow section is a 16.2 feet wide by 0.2 feet deep low flow spillway weir cast into the concrete cap. As a result of the poor visual inspection of this facility, the dam is considered to be in very poor condition. It is small in size with a significant hazard potential. The dam is constructed of rock and earth filled timber cribbing and is equipped with 6.2 ft. of nonfailing flashboards. It is about 275 ft. long and 15 ft. high. It is small in size with a high hazard potential. One half of the PMF has been adopted as the appropriate test flood. The dam is in fair condition at the present time. There are various remedial measures which require attention.

The dam is a concrete buttress structure with extensive earthfill at the downstream face. It is 526 ft. high and 43 ft high. The dam is considered to be in poor condition and the dike is considered to be in fair condition. Major soft, wet area with active seepage discharge at the downstream toe of the dam near the right abutment is among major concerns. It is intermediate in size with a high hazard potential.

Based on the visual inspection, available records and past performance, the dam is considered to be in fair condition. Based on size and hazard classifications in accordance with Corps guidelines, the test flood is the PMF. In addition to long term recommendations, there are several remedial measures which should be implemented immediately.
