A collection of poems about one of children's favourite subjects - monsters. Korky Paul's lively illustrations to life this popular poetry book. John Foster and Korky Paul's poetry partnership began over 10 years ago, with the publication of Dragon Poems. The combination of John's inspired and witty selection of poems, with Korky's crazily imaginative and anarchic illustrations, has proved exceptionally popular. 'If this combination of verse and illustration doesn't make you laugh out loud, then you must have missed out on the sense of humour gene' The Guardian 'Delightfully scary....wickedly funny' The Herald

Twilight's here. The death bell rings. Everyone knows what the death bell brings—it's time for class! You're in the place where goblins wail and zombies drool. (That's because they're kindergartners.) Welcome to Monster School. In this entertaining collection of poems, award-winning poet Kate Coombs and debut artist Lee Gatlin bring to vivid life a wide and playful cast of characters (outgoing, shy, friendly, funny, prickly, proud) that may seem surprisingly like the kids you know . . . even if these kids are technically monsters.

Jakob is an ordinary boy, but when he meets the cuddly monster Knuddi in the forest on his way to school one day, his life changes abruptly. After all, he wants to help Knuddi usher in a new age to make the world a little better again. Together with Knuddi, the librarian Karl Gregorski and his father Richard, Jakob experiences an exciting adventure in which a stone tablet and a crystal ball play a key role. Once the stone tablet full of cuddly monster symbols has been deciphered, the two friends are faced with two important questions: Who can they trust? And will Knuddi succeed in starting the new age, even though someone is trying hard to prevent it?

Holy Monsters, Sacred Grotesques examines the intersection of religion and monstrosity in a variety of different time periods in the hopes of addressing two gaps in scholarship within the field of monster studies. The first part of the volume—running from the medieval to the Early Modern period—focuses upon the view of the monster through non-majority voices and accounts from those who were themselves branded as monsters. Overlapping partially with the Early Modern and proceeding to the present day, the contributions of the second part of the volume attempt to problematize the dichotomy of secular/religious through a close look at the monsters this period has wrought.
