Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. An old couple find a large peach in a river. When the cut it open, a child emerges. They name him Momotaro, or Little Peachling. The child grows up and decides to set off on an exciting adventure.

An elderly couple raises a boy found in the pit of a large peach. When he is grown, Momotaro, or Little Peachling, and animals he meets along the way go the "island of the devils" to fight Akandoji, the chief of the devils, and take his riches home.
