This is the BOLD Letter Edition of "The Modern Literal Version," (2017 Official Version New Testament Update, 11-13-16, black & white, with words of the God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit in BOLD print, narrow margin and standard size 12 point font, 7.5" x 9.2" so it can fit in a "bible sock"). Quick Overview: The "Modern Literal Version" uses the Majority Text ("The New Testament in the Original Greek Byzantine Textform 2005 Compiled and Arranged by Maurice A. Robinson and William Pierpont"). Two distinct and opposite techniques are used in translating the New Testament from the Greek. The "Modern Literal Version" is the first type, a 'literal' translation sometimes called 'word-for-word' translation. The second and most common in the past 30 years is to paraphrase the Greek into English. These are: dynamic equivalence, free style, thought-for-thought, better than a word-for-word and so on. We understand the value of paraphrases for those looking for a Bible that reads as easily as a newspaper, however we feel strongly about having a Bible without opinions of what was meant but instead faithfully reproduces the original Greek Bible into Modern English. One way to look at this is: if there was a court case with a particular document that was being used as evidence and this document was in a foreign language would a "thought-for-thought" translation be acceptable? The 'document' we are talking about here is the 'Last Will and Testament' of our Lord Jesus & Savior. The goal of everyone who worked on the "Modern Literal Version" was to keep any form of commentary or paraphrase out of this translation as is humanly possible. The MLV is not sold for profit because there is no denomination or publishing company or foundation behind it. All Christian groups have had the opportunity to submit fixes or help. The only uninspired traditions kept in the MLV are: punctuation and capitalization; chapter and verse numbers; and book order. The Open Translation Bible: The Modern Literal Version Bible is considered 'finished, ' although it has been open for revision by anyone since 1998. Our utmost desire is to have a translation that has no errors and we believe that the best way to produce an error-free translation is to keep it open to the public in the same manner as 'open-source software' is to programmers. We have found no better way than our 'open translation' idea in its 15 years to achieve this goal. Absolutely anyone in the world is able to contribute, for sure, the few million who have visited the Christian Library have had that opportunity. To God is the glory, power, and dominion forever and ever. Amen

Second Edition The republishing of the New Testament TransLine has given me the opportunity to fix all the typos that have been brought to my attention. I give thanks to all who helped by pointing out these things. In addition, I have produced the forthcoming Disciples Literal New Testament (tentative title), which is a simplified version of this book, about one third its size. It is the same translation found in this volume, but now presented in paragraph format (no outline), with interpretive section headings and a few notes. Moving the translation to paragraph format required changes to the punctuation, and these are now incorporated into this volume as well. Some improvements to the outline structure of The New Testament TransLine were also made as an outcome of viewing the text in paragraphs. May God bless you as you study His Word, and may God use these two works according to His good pleasure. In contradiction to the tenor and direction of our current world, the Word of God will stand forever as objective truth corresponding to true reality from God's point of view. It is not truth for me, or true because it works for me, but it is truth from God, and therefore truth for everyone. Michael Magill April 2008

This is the Modern Literal Version 2015 Update specifically made "for reading." The chapter & verse number were removed, along with footnoting and other non-inspired sections from the main text. This "for reading" edition is closer arranged to the way God wrote it and Books are arranged in a more as they happened in the 1st Century arrangement. This allows the reader to learn more by letting the books build on each other. The "Modern Literal Version" uses the Majority Text ("The New Testament in the Original Greek Byzantine Textform 2005 Compiled and Arranged by Maurice A. The Modern Young's Literal Translation of the Bible is a modernization of the Young's Literal Translation. The text of the 1898 edition was used for this. The only changes made were to sentence structure and archaic language. The original meanings are still intact. All effort has been made to preserve the original meaning and flow of Young's Literal Translation. The Modern Young's Literal Translation is easier to read and understand with today's English. This is an excellent Bible translation because it retains the original literal translating and and meanings, but is easier to read. This title here is the New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs.

This is the Alpha version of the Modern Literal Version O.T. in 11 pt font size, double column, 8.5" by 11" book. 12-1-16 update. Quick Overview:The MLV O.T. is a continued revision of the Public Domain "A Conservative Version O.T." which is a more accurate revision of the "1901 American Standard Version" still held by Hebrew experts to be the best, most accurate O.T. We had plans to use Young's Literal but found out real quick it is no where as good as people have claimed. The MLV is Open Source and not sold for profit because there is no denomination or publishing company or foundation behind it. All Christian groups have had the opportunity to submit fixes or help. The only uninspired traditions kept in the MLV are: punctuation and capitalization; chapter and verse numbers; and book order. The Open Translation Bible:The Modern Literal Version Bible NT is considered 'finished,' although it has been open for revision by anyone since 1998. Our utmost desire is to have a translation that has no errors and we believe that the best way to produce an error-free translation is to keep it open to the public in the same manner as 'open-source software' is to programmers. Absolutely anyone in the world is able to contribute, for sure, the few million who have visited the Christian Library have had that opportunity. We are hoping to do the same with the O.T. as with the N.T.The Modern Literal Version N.T. is also available in a separate book on amazon with its concordance, Greek dictionary & Greek concordance. MLV 2013 is the cutting edge version and "The New Koine Greek Textbooks Volume I & II" are the others. To God is the glory, power, and dominion forever and ever. Amen

After starting the MLV N.T we were asked multiple times to create an O.T. After seeking advice from multiple Hebrew Scholars, we decided on the "A Conservative Version" done Dr. Walter L Porter, ThD. The ACV was already a great revision of the "American Standard Version 1901." Dr. Porter's goals were to remove archaic wording and put it into better English form (subject, verb, object). We cannot hope to achieve the accuracy of the Old Testament like we did in the "Modern Literal Version New Testament". Hebrew is just not as precise as Koine Greek but so far to date we have corrected about 42,000 places.
