Manual de medicina basada en evidencias es una obra que nos muestra de manera sencilla y ágil la información necesaria para comprender y utilizar de manera eficiente una herramienta que facilita a los médicos la toma de decisiones en beneficio de sus pacientes, incluye temas de gran importancia, entre los que se encuentran: las fuentes de información secundaria o prefiltrada como las revisiones sistemáticas, metaanálisis y la metodología que utilizan en su elaboración, pero lo más importante que nos ponen al tanto de la alta confiabilidad de los estudios consultados y de las conclusiones de quienes revisan los textos. Advances in medical, biomedical and health services research have reduced the level of uncertainty in clinical practice.
