In this first book in the Mango Bob series, Walker has just lost his job, his wife has filed for divorce, and he’s living in a tent down by the river. Being ever resourceful, Walker swaps his truck for a motorhome (aka ‘the Love Bus’), and agrees to drive it cross-country to sleepy Englewood Florida so he can deliver a cat named Mango Bob to a woman he's never met. Should be easy, right? Drive to Florida, hand over the cat, and then hang out on the beach. Except there’s an unsolved murder involving the Love Bus, the Mexican mafia, and a half million in missing gold coins. Add to the mix a trigger happy grandma, a team of bungling burglars, the hot chick with the kayak, the repo man, and you get a rollicking travel romp through the Sunshine State. A fun and fast read!

The Little People were a happy and peaceful clan who lived in the crater of a wonderful volcano. There, they were surrounded by their favorite smellssweet sulfur, in particularand were always warm and comfortable. It was safe there, too, because the predators stayed away, which was very important for the Little People, each of them no more than twelve inches tall. Then, one terrible day, things begin to go wrong. The hiss of steam in their happy home comes less and less. The sweet sulfur fades, growing weaker by the day. Their volcano is dying; soon, it will no longer be a safe, warm, comfortable place to call home. The Little People are forced to flee, and they find themselves in a Maine mill town, lost and afraid. How will they survive? Who will come to their aid in this strange, new land? Luckily, two curious kids, Timothy and Xandre, discover the Little People and befriend the strange clan. With the help of their new friendsplus a helpful grandma and a friendly dogthe Little People might be safe after all, despite the absence of sulfur and heat. At a chaotic town meeting, the fates of the Little People will be ultimately decided.

This book is an argument about the moral foundations of foreign policy. It argues that a liberal state can insist upon the universal reach of liberal ideas, while still distinguishing between what is owed to citizens and what is owed to foreign citizens. This liberalism includes a concern for liberal toleration, which is intended to defend the proposition that a liberal state can work for democratization and liberalism abroad, without being intolerant or illiberal in doing so. What constraints there are on foreign policy emerge not from the need to tolerate undemocratic regimes, but from the prudential reason that there are few effective and proportional means by which such regimes might be liberalized. It also argues that international inequality is wrong only when and to the extent this inequality can be shown to undermine the democratic self-rule of a society. Global poverty and underdevelopment is wrong for reasons quite unlike the reasons given to condemn domestic inequality. These facts are combined to give an attractive and coherent picture of how the foreign policy of a liberal state might be morally evaluated.

Faced with the disintegration of their marriage, Matt Wheelock and Michelle Lomax turn to a charismatic philosopher known only as the Teacher for guidance and support. The Teacher, seemingly a man without an identity, preaches a message of a sublime universe of mind beyond our own material plane, hidden from all but the enlightened few. When two of the Teacher's acolytes die in a very public act of suicide, his remaining followers find themselves drawn into his world of deception and paranoia. They embark on a chaotic trek across Mexico and Central America, running toward a haven that only the Teacher can find, and from a threat that only he can identify. Along the way, they all find their most fundamental assumptions about who they are being challenged. Some will return unscathed, others will be changed forever – and some won't make it back at all. At the end of the road, Matt and Michelle will find that not only are there no easy answers to the questions they started out with, but that the questions themselves may no longer have any meaning.
