In 1733, Daniel Ludwig immigrated from Germany to Pennsylvania aboard the Pennsylvania Merchant. He arrived on 18 Sep 1733 and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He married Maria (Mary) Greiner about 1744. Their descendants lived in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Reuben Charles Ludwig, son of John R. Ludwig and Kate R. Texter, was born in 1892. He married Carrie Stella Fromm (1893-1941). They had seven children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania.
