I've written a number of books on longevity and immortality. But I've only had some partial chapters on long lived plants and animals. This is an important subject because all of this life is based on the same DNA code we have in our own bodies. If this life can live for hundreds or thousands of years then this says that it is possible for humanity to live that long also. Here I've researched and included lots of specimens of animal and plant life which represent the extremes of longevity for widely varying life. This book covers the plant, animal kingdoms and includes lifeforms which are essentially immortal. Also, it is just fascinating to see who the longest lived mammals are, the oldest fish, and what about trees and bushes which have been around for thousands of years.

This book is about communities and cities around the world where people live to very old ages. It is divided into two groups. Those communities who have the longest lived peoples in the world. Lots of lifestyle and diet data is included for them. The second group are another set of communities which have high average ages which people live to but are not quite the outliers that the first group is. I’ve also tried to provide some general lifestyle and diet guidelines to give an idea of why these places are different for longevity purposes. The first four communities were also profiled in my book “Diets and Lifestyles of the World's Oldest Peoples & 32 Longevity Recipes” which goes into lot of details about these four locations including traditional recipes. Overall, I think you will get a better idea of what the reasons are why people live a long time in these locations around the world which may give you ideas about adapting your lifestyle and diets to have maximum longevity.

Aristotle’s Parva naturalia continues the investigation begun in the De anima. The De anima defines the soul and treats its main powers, nutrition, sense perception, intellection, and locomotion. The Parva naturalia — On sense and sensible objects, On memory and recollection, On sleep, On dreams, On divination in sleep, On motion of animals (De motu animalium ), On length and shortness of life, and On youth and old age and respiration — attends more to bodily involvement with soul. While each work offers fascinating and challenging insights, there has never been as extensive a commentary covering them together. A reason is that the works have often been viewed as incidental and even inconsistent. The De motu animalium has not typically been included, when viewed as an isolated work on animal locomotion. This commentary argues that the treatises, considered together and with the De motu among them, display a tight sequence manifesting an artful, yet easily overlooked, design. We reveal many techniques of Aristotle’s writing that have received little consideration previously. Our commentary contributes to a unified and comprehensive account of Aristotle’s overall project regarding the soul and its connections with the body.
